Who are you and how'd you find BSV?

Oct 10 2006 02:43 am   #1maryperk

My name is Maryperk, but you can call me MP.  I don't mind, really.    I'm 39 years old and I have 5 kiddos.  I am a SAHM.  I watched Buffy from the beginning because I like shows that are different.  And boy, was Buffy different.

I had bought the Season 6 on DVD, but it's soooo depressing that I decided to do a google search on Spuffy.  I found BSV from contacting BSB about her story 'Dreams and Desotos'.   That's basically my story.

Next?

Hi My screen name is LisFayte, but you can call me Lisa.   I am the mother of 2 grown daughters (26 and 19) I too watched Buffy from the beginning, and for the same reasons that Maryperk has. I like to read a lot, when I am not reading spuffy, I am reading Charlaine Harris, Mary Janice Davidson, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, and Laurell K. Hamilton.

I Had read so many fics that were challenge responces from here, so I decided to look it up, I have to say that this is by far the best Spuffy archive I have ever seen. I have yet to find an unreadable fic here

Oct 10 2006 04:02 am   #3ZoeGrace

Hey, Zoe here.  I'm 27.  Unlike a lot of people here, I didn't discover Buffy until it had been off the air for two years, and there were only three episodes left of Angel and it had already been cancelled.

I had heard of Buffy before and had seen the movie which I thought was cheesy...but I never watched the show cause it just sounded stupid.  I don't have cable and when it was in reruns on the WB I couldn't find the remote one night to change it, so I thought 'what the hell?'  I still remember the first episode I saw, it was either "Him" from season seven with the magical letterman's jacket...arguably not one of the best episodes, but I was still hooked. OR it could have been that ep where Dawn thought she was a potential.  I'm a bit fuzzy on which of those two was actually the very first one I saw.  I keep remembering it differently.

ANYWAY...long story short...I was hooked and had to see them all.  I ended up watching all the seasons out of order due to availability and my impatience.  I saw season 5, then 3, then 1 and 2, then 4, then 6 and 7. (That's the order I bought the DVD sets in.)  It's amazing that I could even follow the plot lol.  I did see all the Angel's in the proper order though.

Early last year I started reading fanfic.  I didnt' even know what fanfic was or that it existed.  I was doing a google search on buffy and spike cause I wanted to know other people's opinions on various episodes that were out there.  Then I came across fanfic and I was hooked.  I started writing some of my own stuff thinking I would never share it, it was just for me and to appease the obession gods.

I finally started posting on the SR, and someone invited me to start posting on here.  And that's my incredibly longwinded and boring story lol.

"Out. For. A. Walk. Bitch!"

Hi, this is LindsayH.  So far I've only left reviews on some stories, but I'm gathering courage for a smutty fic some day.  I'm a 21 year old university student who just happened to graduate from high school on the same night that "Chosen" premiered, thus ushering in the dark age of no Buffy and no high school.  Anyway, discovered this mecca after I got tired of looking through all the Bangel stuff at Slayerfanfic.com and noticing that all of the best Spuffy stories came from here.  I think I got started here after reading Dreams of Spike's fabulous and heart-rending "Belonging."  Which is still, btw, one of my all-time top ten faves.  I adore Dreams of Spike!  Even though it's hard to remember to time in the new name.  Sticky business when rl people get nosy.

Oct 10 2006 09:50 am   #5Diabola

Hey, you all know me, at least by name. I'm Diabola (or Dia) and since the 2nd of August 2006 I'm the owner of the BSV. I had been helping Bloodshedbaby (the former owner and founder) with the script ever since she decided to make the BSV a self-posting archive, because, well, computers are my job and I love coding.

I've been around pretty much since the BSv started out, used to hang out on the HOB tag before that and liked the people involved. The people were actually the reason I ended up on the BSV, because I don't really care if there is biting in a story or not. (And in the beginning that was a "must" for all BSV stories.) But the HOB tag was where I first stopped lurking, and I felt comfortable with the people there.

To my person: I'm a 27 year old computer technican from Germany who absolutely refuses to read books (or anything really) in her own language. I work at a very small computer and networking company, small as in the boss and me, run by a good friend of mine. That part should explain why I'm always online, even at work. As I said, I love coding, and since we don't do that in our company, I have to find other outlets for it - you're using one of the results.

So, that's me - or at least as much as I'm willing to reveal here. ;-)

hey dia, how come you don't read anything in german?

Oct 10 2006 10:14 am   #7Always_jbj

Always_jbj (or C *shrugs* I answer to either. lol)

I was lucky enough to stumble across the original Bloodshedverse a few days after it came into existence. I was only just writing my first fic at the time and BSB was kind enough to archive it.  Everyone on the tag was so friendly and I very quickly found a virtual home away from home.  I have been lucky enough to make some truly fabulous friends here on the BSV.

Thanks to Bloodshedbaby my site is Axis of Love  is a part of the House of Bloodshed.

Caro Mio, here. I found BSB when BSC went down, looking for a place that the fics I was reading were still being posted at. I started writing fanfic in May '05, though I didn't move into Spuffy until late last year. I was on a not liking Buffy tangent at the time, so I had to write something where she was good to Spike, or I was just going to throttle the twit in very gruesome ways. Anyway, I started keeping up with BTVS for the start of Season 4, after catching a couple re-runs and liking it. We also started with Angel from the beginning. I'm a bigger fan of it on the whole.

I'm 29, don't work right now, and live in SoCal.

Oct 10 2006 12:32 pm   #10Spikes Slayer2

hey all... Im spikes slayer2.. or a.k.a Abbey

i found BSV after BSC went down. i needed my daily fix of spuffy fics hehe.. basically i got into buffy at around the middle of season five.. my mum tried to get me to watch it when i was younger but i was too 'scared' of the episodes so i didnt watch them! lol i didnt watch season 6 on t.v but tuned in for season 7. i bought all of the box sets after my mum bought me season 1 for christmas one year.. so basically within 9 months from that christmas i had bought the entire box set of buffy AND angel... i  watched angel season 5 cause it had spike in it *sighs* lol

i live in australia and im 18 years old.. what else? live with my parents currently until i go to uni next year.. i drive a litte 1975 blue VW convertible beetle which has been named "the topless whore" lol

thats about it  :)

Slaymesoftly here (really have to figure out how to get an avatar up) - this is a great use of the forum. I miss the old bios we used to have on all our readers and authors.

I'm not sure I remember how I got to the BSV (or, to the HOB, which I think I found first) - maybe from a review that BSB left for me on BSC or from one I left for her?  Anyway, I had one fic that contained biting and I posted it.  It's been downhill from there! LOL

I've been a fan of BtVS since it's beginning (not the movie), but had trouble seeing it regularly until late season IV or season V, so I had catching up to do then.   Found fanfiction sites while looking for ways to keep up when I missed a show and began writing myself during season VI.

This is Coquine, I'm just too lazy to sign in.  I'm a lurker the vast, vast majority of the time, so it's almost embarrassing how much time I actually spend reading fanfic and I just never show myself.

I honestly don't remember how I came across the BSV, but I do know that I've been around almost from the beginning.  I think maybe BSB told me about it or she put it in one of her author's notes of a fic of hers I was reading.  Other sites I frequent are AllAboutSpike (I'm slowly working my way through that entire archive), Vampires-Kiss, The Crypt, Fanfic by Kallysten, and Holly, Mary, and Eurydice's livejournals.  There are tons of others, but those are the one's I come back to again and again.

Me, personally?  I'm a 23 year old woman, 5'6'' 140 lbs-ish, brown hair, blue eyes, and a big old geek in general.  I've been into sci-fi/fantasy ever since I was very little.  My first fandom was (and still is, really) X-Men comic books.  I didn't 'discover' Buffy until my second year in college, just before S7 first aired.  I caught a rerun on FX of Out Of My Mind, and I was immediately hooked.  I was also immediately a Spuffy shipper.  I saw all the rest of the seasons in reruns, and eventually bought all the DVD sets.

As far as Spuffy fanfic, I was already reading X-Men fanfic on various sites, and it all just followed from there.  Wasn't that all very boring?  :-d

Oct 10 2006 08:03 pm   #14ZoeGrace

heh coquine, Since I started in season five, I was a Spuffy shipper pretty much from the beginning as well.  As soon as I saw that scene of "Out of my Mind" where Spike had the dream of Buffy coming into the crypt and them kissing, I was just waiting for the moment when Buffy figured out she was supposed to be with Spike lol.

Oct 11 2006 12:37 am   #15spikes_wish

Hey I'm Sarah, and I'm 19 from England (where the history comes from). I only started reading Spuffy fanfiction a year ago, but I had read other fanfiction before that. Pretty certain I discovered the BSV by typing Spuffy Fanfic into google and it came up with the House of Bloodshed, and I got the link from there.

I've watched the show since I was about 13, although not religiously as I was a little young for some of the themes. I've always loved Spike, and believed Angel was a prat, really. Although when I watched the box sets, season 2 almost had me Bangel-ing. Luckily I watched S7 two weeks later, and was cured of that ;). Oh, and I've always hated Riley. But then, most people do.

I started publishing my fanfiction this year, mainly because I was so inspired by what others of you've done. I'd written it before that, but sites like these really made me want to see what people thought. Amd the BSV has the best reviewers. Love you guys :). I'm also addicted to writing fiction in general, and as Joss created all the characters and the world they live in, I find it easier to write than fiction from scratch- so you could say this is what I write for pure fun and let my muse out for exercise. OK, so I've rambled on a lot, so I'll be shutting up now.

Oct 11 2006 01:03 am   #16Guest

Zoe- Yeah I remember quite well thinking...okay, one of them is dreaming.  I think I was surprised it was Spike, though, just cause of Buffy's little freudian slip earlier (if that's what I wanted I'd be dating Spike).

Sarah- HA!!!  I laughed out loud when I read your introduction, and I wondered how many people would 'get' it.  But then you explained it for everyone.  Yeah.  I love Eddie.  I long for a bungalow...

Oct 11 2006 01:04 am   #17Guest

dammit I should really just start signing in...that last one was from Coquine...

Oct 11 2006 01:06 am   #18ZoeGrace

Spike's wish, i know what you mean about the temporary insanity that is Bangel lol.  I remember I was also feeling it a little in Angel season one where he became human then had the day erased.  I was sobbing my eyes out going: "But I don't even like her with Angel...Spike is the vampire for her...whaaaa" lol.

And yes, the BSV really has the best reviewers.  The reviewer to reader ratio is much higher here than pretty much anywhere else.

Oct 11 2006 01:08 am   #19ZoeGrace

heh coquine.  You can check the "remember me" box and never have to log in again as long as you don't reset your cookies lol.

And yeah I loved that: "if that's what I wanted, I'd be dating spike." hahaha.  I always like to look at that line as forshadowing lol.

Oct 11 2006 01:37 am   #20Shadow

I go by Shadow, and I admit to being a die-hard bangel fan... until the colossal arse walked out on her cause they couldnt have sex.  Now I just want angel to die a horrible death.

Started reading fanfic about... hmmm (counts) 9 years ago and just started writing (and I admit I cant write fight scenes)

What else can I say except.... Spike can bite me anytime, anywhere, anyhow.

Tahlmorra lujhalla mei wiccan, cheysu.
Oct 11 2006 01:39 am   #21Niamh

"I'd be dating Spike"  Um yeah, there were a whole lot of freudian slips regarding Spuffy shipping from the early days. . . . . just watch and take a real, long, hard look at what was actually being said.

Anyway, I'm Niamh, and I'm exactly like it says in my brief profile (he, the only brief thing I've ever written).  I'm in my 40s (so I'm an old hag); I've been a practicing witch for *coughwaytofreakinglongcough*; single mother by choice (because why should you buy when it's cheaper to rent?); and writer.  Ah, I found the BSV when it was just a gleam in BSB's eyes and was totally fangirl squeeing when BSB invited me to join. . . . and now I'm on the HOB!!!!  I feel like Sally Field. . . .

Oct 11 2006 01:56 am   #22ZoeGrace

shadow, we'll forgive you for the bangel.  :)

Niamh LMAO now you've got me intrigued...what other spuffy slips happened before Spuffy existed on the show?

Oct 11 2006 02:26 am   #23ZoeGrace

actually I think i'm gonna turn this into a new thread so i don't hijack too bad.

Cas

Hey all!  I leave reviews under the name Cas, but write under Anaunthe.  Guess cause I started reviewing before I ever wrote anything, and there are others out there who write under Cas or Cass, and I wanted something unique.  I also found BtVS in re-runs.  Started watching over the summer with my kids.  Sometimes we watched Charmed, sometimes Buffy.  But Buffy had more of a continuing storyline, so we all liked that better.  We saw all of season 5, but the station apparently didn't have rights to the newer ones yet, so then they ran season 1 on.  But somehow I had seen some of 4 earlier, and Spike's showing up at Buffy's Thanksgiving just didn't make much sense until I saw season 2. Anyway, glad that I've found a place where old TV shows never die.

Oct 11 2006 05:46 pm   #25spikes_wish

Coquine- omg i friggin love that line. and the euro disney castle one. "You might want to make it a bit bigger, they actually *have* them here".

zoegrace- i know. i felt sick.

Oct 11 2006 07:05 pm   #26ZoeGrace

hahaha spikes_wish, you didn't feel just a little bit sad when Buffy and Angel couldn't be together (of course I was pissed off at Angel cause he totally just wanted to stay a superhero...I mean how the hell was he helping her by staying in LA?)  I mean this was before she and Spike even got together...had this happened after the Spuffy started I wouldn't have felt for them.

But I felt for Buffy...I didn't think Angel was right for her even back then, but I felt for her because she was in so much pain from what he was doing and then he went and let her memories be taken away.  That's just wrong.

Man...now I don't know why I was crying about it.  It must have just been sympathy for Buffy, because the more I think about that episode, the more I dislike Angel even more than I already did.  What a jerk!

Oct 11 2006 07:27 pm   #27spikes_wish

Aww that episode was so sad. And you're right, it helped none whatsoever what Angel did- she died 2 years later! I also cried, but it was just for Buffy. No wonder the girls got issues, memory or no.

Oct 12 2006 12:21 am   #28GoldenBuffy

Hi *waves*

Okay, I go by GoldenBuffy or you can call me Lilly, 27 with 5 kids, I'm a SAHM too. I sould be starting school for Forincis Science soon, so I'm all *squee* over that. Long story just a science geek at heart. Ummm, let's see, I got into Buffy way back when, well when it first hopped on tv, in 97. But I did gt addicted from teh movie with Luke Perry, I was all swoony over him 'cause of 90210.

As far as fan fic went, I had no idea it even existed. In english class we had to write a story, so I decided to write a fic on the X-Files, hence the fanfic writing, lol. So one day I was on google since I was looking for something to do with the SIMS, which I LOVE as much as Spuffy, and I typed in "buffy" and found fanfic, SPUFFY fanfic, and I was hooked ever since.

Then I started reading over at BSC, and then posted my first fic (all human), which I'm still working on, and ran into BSB who told me about BSV. So I've been hanging out over here ever since, lol.

*blush*

Man, writing these things always makes me feel like I'm in high school when the teacher yells "SURPRISE! POP QUIZ!!" and you just sit there drooling and going "Guuuuuuh" when inside your head youre actually spazzing out like a squirrel on a double shot.

Umm...anyway...I'm Desiree. 34 year old Mum of 2 boys (who will be 7 and 4 in Nov and Dec and oldest had been tested towards near-genius levels so that in itself keeps me busy). I'm a halfbreed - 1/2 native American, 1/4 Irish, 1/4 German and I live on one of those small islands that line the east coast of Florida. In some ways its a blessing...less people which means less traffic and other daily annoyances...in other ways its a pita because being on an island, the people here are wealthy and tend to have skewered outlooks and superficial airs (that and everything is WAY more expensive than on the mainland).

Umm...I started watching Buffy kind of late in it's running. I caught a few beginning episodes when Buffy and Angel were hot and heavy and then life intervened and I forgot about the show for a few years. Then somewhere in season 5ish, I got reaquainted and have been hooked ever since and have become a DIEHARD Spuffy fan. I'm a writer by nature (and I write all kinds of stuff from poetry to fiction to fantasy [the adult kind] but being a teacher is what pays the bills.

Someone once asked me if I was a Brit because of the way I write (so I'm assuming that she was referring to the way I spell certian words). I was bourne in the states and mostly use the Americanized English, but there are just some words that my brain refuses to Americanize - proper uses concerning ou, ogue, re (catalogue, colour, theatre...) etc., so I suppose it kind of makes me a bit odd I guess.

I found BSV through Always_jbj. I'm on Livejournal and I just clicked on one of my interests and her journal was one of the first it listed when it matched interests and I read some of her stuff and was so completely hooked that I peeked at her interests and found Spikeskat who I also became hooked on and TalesOfSpike who will get her own little piece on here in a sec and then from there was lead to the BSV on LJ and then to here.

Now TalesOfSpike... that woman left me breathless. When I found her site He's No Angel I was obsessive... ok not really but I was a squeeeeeeeee'ing fangirl. I read EVERYTHING on her site within 3 days!! Her Spike's Will Be Done series has been bookmarked in my favorites ever since I came across it some months ago and I was completely creepy gushy fangirl when she linked me to the last part of the series with Angels and Demons. That and she has a Giles/Anya fic section that just made me swoon because I've always had a thing for the way they related to each other. I do like the Xander/Anya thing, but Giles and Anya just had so much...potential, for lack of a better word.

I have a lot of stories on here that I've fallen in love with but I daresay that Always_jbj, Spikeskat and TalesOfSpike have me absobloodylutely enthralled...and I'm doing the creepy fangirl thing so I'm just going to shut up now and say thanks for letting me post my stuffies and listen to me blather on.

Oct 12 2006 05:26 am   #30Robyn

Hi, my name is Robyn and yes it's my screen name and my real name. I wasn't feeling very creative when I signed up for my account. I’m single, in my early thirties, with no kids but a lot of nieces and nephews that I totally dote on. I go by Robyn, Rob, Robert, or about any other derivative of the name you could think of.

I have been a fan of Buffy from day one but it was only about two yrs ago that I found out that there was fanfiction. I have been in heaven since. During the show I was a fan of her with whoever her current boyfriend was, but as I started rewatching more and more things started bothering me. In the early days I was a fan of Buffy with Angel instead of Spike, but in my wonderfully twisted mind I think it had more to do with the fact that I wanted Spike then anything else. By the time I started reading fanfic I was firmly on the Spike-Buffy page and I now only read stories that have Buffy’s main love interest being Spike anything else just feels wrong to me.

I found this site just under a year ago, I can’t remember how although I think it had something to do with a link on Spikeskat’s site, and it just about instantly became my favorite site. I love the quality of the stories on it and admit that if I had the time I would be on here constantly reading as there are so many stories that were started or written before I found it that I haven’t been able to get to yet, but someday.

Oct 12 2006 01:28 pm   #31LadyYashka

I'm Tonia and I found the old site through the links off of other sites. It was late and I was bored. I'm 27 yrs old, married for five years, and I read a lot of fanfic. I have no kids, just three cats and my husband. I've actually been reading fanfic since I was about 16 or 17 yrs old. I started writing it about then too.

Aside from fanfic, I love to write and want to make a living from it one day. I also love the Canadian Football League and the Edmonton Eskimos. (not a suprise by now I'm sure) Music is also a big love of mine, though I have no talent at creating it. Read enough of my stories and you'll get a taste of my musical prefernces.

There are other things I'm forgetting but that's all I can think of for now. Later! =)

Tomorrow may be hell, but today was a good writing day, and on the good writing days nothing else matters. — Neil Gaiman

I'mElectric_Sapphire. 24 as of last September, hence my name. As some of you may have guessed by the way I was bugging you on the tag a while ago, I'm new to the Bloodshedverse and Buffyverse in general, although not to fanfiction. One of my best friends made me watch one episode of Season 6 on DVD after the series had ended (Once More With Feeling), and got me hooked. I've now seen everything up to but not including Season 7. A good deal of my fanfics take up right after Grave, ignoring S7 entirely simply because I haven't had the time to watch it. (And I try not to be spoiled too much.)

In a strange mood and wondering if there was such a thing as Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfic, I Googled 'Spike fanfiction' and came up with a whole slew of sites, of which the Bloodshedverse was one. I nearly had a hert attack when I found the site was gone! (But thankfully I found it again. :D)

That's my story, anyway, at least as much as I'm willing to share online. Who else?

Hi, my name is Verda and I'm one of the oldest here I guess. 54 divorced mom of 3, my youngest is in his last year of school and the last one home. We started watching Buffy together from the first epi, he lost interest during S5. I found fanfiction last year when I linked to a sight from James Marsters site and the rest is history. I'm totally hooked on Spuffy fics and BSV has some amazing author's and members. It's been a joy reading and getting to know all of you.

Name on tagboard = Tam, pen name = spikeslovebite. Most of the newbies don't know me by my pen name, so I figured I'd better elaborate lol

I found the BSV via the HOB after I had devoured all there was to read there. A friend (she's a bangel, forgive her- I have lol) introduced me to fanfiction and encouraged me to write my first fic, an AU called Shiver that I posted at Spuffy Realm. I've been a Buffy fan since Season 2 and yes, School Hard was the first episode I ever saw. I was enthralled from the first "Home, sweet home." I ever heard. He was bad. He was teh hawtness. He was SPIKE!! >insert fangirly swoon here< I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was sitting with mouth agape and drool running down my chin when that hand moved down his chest to his crotch, now was I? Nope, I wasn't. In fact, I can still get Rae worked up if we talk about that scene LOL

Personal details I don't normally share- I'm 41 years old (looks at slaymesoftly and Verda- We gotta stick together...Bloodshedverse Grannies Unite!!), born and raised in central Indiana. Proud mom of 2 boys ages 14 and 5.

I like my Spuffy fluffy and full of prOn, and I like my Spike completely nekkid as much as possible :) This past summer, I was fortunate enough to meet a bunch of amazing, like-minded ladies when I attended Writercon in Atlanta. I can't begin to express how wonderful it was to meet people that didn't treat me like my Spuffy obsession was a mental defect. *Smoochies* once again to Bloodshedbaby and Rae for making it possible for me to go.

Oh, I may be old enough to have married kids (although that would be cutting it close seeing as I only have a couple of years on Tam), but my only offspring is just hitting his terrible teens in March. . . .

But my witchy students all confirm that I am in my crone stage -- which means I impart lots of wisdom. . . so heh, that works for me.

Hi! I'm Glory and I've watched Buffy since the very beginning. A friend of mine literally sat me down in front of the t.v. and made me watch it. I was smitten with Angel that very first season... that is until the Big Bad showed up.

Ever since then I was about the Spike. When Spike came back for Lover's Walk I was done for.

I discovered fanfic years ago, but didn't decide to try my hand at writing it until fairly recently. I'm 22, working on my Masters, and working full-time so I don't have as much time to devote to writing a I wish I did. But I'm trying... and I'll never get sick of fanfic!

Well.

I'm Dead Man Walking. Clearly. But my name is acutally Ellen. From England, originally. NOw lives in Australia. and is 18.

Came across the BSV by sheer chance. I googled 'Buffy Fan Fic' and got here.

I started watching BtVS when my friend forced me to watch an episode. THat episode was the one whose name entirely escapes me. With Xander and the Fishfinger Theatre. And I was hooked. I made her show me every single episode we could fit in that day. and the day after that. and after that. and after that.

Mar 31 2007 05:41 pm   #55Scarlet Ibis

Oh, another thread I missed.

Well, I'm Jillian or Jill (whichever you prefer) from Chicago.  I saw the movie when I was like six, and loved it (I still like it today, so I'm not too sure my age had something to do with it...) Anyway, waited for years for a sequel that never came, and then, the WB happened and Buffy was back when I was 11.  Loved it (obviously).  Season 2 happened, and became totally enthralled by JM as soon as he stepped out of the car in the first five minutes of "School Hard,", and found myself rooting for the "bad guy," or at least, more screen time.

A couple of years later, and s4 started to bore me (maybe it was the Initiative and Riley and being O.D.ed on Biley- yuck, but I just stopped watching), and didn't pick it up again till "Restless," and was beyond confused.  Spent some of the summer watching reruns, I think, or maybe I didn't watch it again until s5, in which the increased JM screen time happened, and I was an avid watcher again :D  That, and I had to know where in the blue hell Dawn came from.

I own all BtVS DVDs, and missing the first three of Angel, and the movie that most people think suck.  Anyway, I've been writing fan fic since the end of (the crappy and dark) s6, which, cosequently, while searching for JM pics, discovered fan fiction for the first time, and I was in  luvvv...  I have several WIPs because apparently, I'm better with short and to the point.  Also, I've been writing in general since I was 11, and I'm in my junior year as a fiction writing major.

I was on the original BSV, and then I heard about the new URL from a Spuffy group I think...

I'm Unbridled Brunette. I have no other name, for I am mysterious. :P

I'm twenty-five, I live in north Georgia, and I have a husband, six dogs, four cats, and two horses. I've watched Buffy since the beginning, but I almost didn't, because I hate the movie. lol. Naturally, my obsession with the show really began during season two, with the appearance of Spike. I found this site through vampires-kiss, but I don't remember if it was through a link or another person. I'm very glad I did, though, because now its one of my absolute favorites. :)

I'm Verity Watson. *Waves.* I'm not exactly mysterious, but I have a terribly respectable job, so I prefer to keep it on the QT that I write (and voraciously read) spuffy smut. ;)
I'm 33, married, with a darling 2 year old son with wild curling hair. We're in the middle of moving to metro DC.
I met Buffy at the very start of S4 - I thought "The Freshman" was brilliant - but couldn't get into the Riley/Initiative storyline. A few months later I discovered the re-runs on FX and pretty much cleared my calendar to be home for every single episode afterwards.
Somewhere in there - 2001 maybe? - I was Googling spoilers for S7, and stumbled across fanfic. Never dreamed this world existed, and so glad that it does.
Posted my first story at the late, great BSC in August '06 and moved over to BSV after BSC's demise. While BSC was my first home, I've found BSV to be an amazingly supportive and welcoming place ... and find myself writing in every spare second I can get!

Love PA. I have cousins in Meadville, where my grandmother's family grew up from the time she was 4. The rest are in Warren, OH

The first time we stopped at the Vet wall, my mother looked through the names and found several people from high school she'd known. (She graduated in '67.) There were people she'd wondered about after graduation, who joined the service....

The US so rocks as a vacation spot....I LOVE driving all over the country and seeing everything. There's so much just NEAT stuff.

Hello everyone *waves*. I'm Lauren, a 20 year old resident and college student in NYC. I literally grew up with Buffy and was with it through all 7 seasons, excluding season 6, which I later saw on re-run thanx to FX. I started out in the Batman/DC fandom and by 16 had migrated over to BtVS thanks to fanfiction.net. I read and lurked for many years and only about a month ago, thanks to the prodding of a fandom friend, decided to try and pen some of my own stories. After asking her where I should post my fic, she suggested BSV and a few other archives, and here I am.

It's been so great finally getting to "meet" the writers behind all of the fantastic stories archived here and elsewhere. It's such  a privilege to be able to interact with authors whose work you admire. Also, the wonderful reviews here have really been encouraging to me as a new writer and I am astounded (and thankful for) the detailed feedback you give. I do a lot of journalistic writing and very rarely get feedback for the work I put into it. To know that someone is actually reading what you bother to write is very gratifying indeed.

Hi my name is Jarod.  I'm a thirty-year old production manager for a small but popular design firm in Manhattan.  I've lived in NYC for ten years and can't see myself anywhere else in the near future, even though my rent could probably buy me a 9 story castle in New Jersey.

I fell hard for BtVS around the time Season 5 started.  Some women I worked with lured me over with promises of hash brownies and lurid snuggling, but it was all a horrible Buffy trap.  They knew I couldn't resist the witty writing and clever plot twists.  I decided to start writing fanfic two months ago, after I stumbled across The Spuffy Realm, and am still working on my first story "Clocks of the Long Now."  I found BSV after seeing a few stories posted here from an awards site.

Fun Facts about me:

- I've been the Best Man at four weddings, but never the groom

- I studied Journalism in college, but I'm an art geek at heart.

- I have a dead man's name tatooed on my chest.

Anyway, glad I found this place.  Nice to meetcha all!

Apr 02 2007 08:25 pm   #89firefreezes

Hi, I'm Jenny. Mainly I'm here to read, but I'm working on a story that I'm posting on this site. I live in NY, finishing up undergrad and going on to grad school in another state.

I started watching Buffy the summer after the first season premiered, my first episode was The Puppet Show, and it was so very funny and dark and different than anything I'd ever come across. I was hooked, though, when the WB moved Buffy to Tuesdays with Surprise and Innocence. And yes, I was very into Bangel...what 14 year old girl doesn't love a Romeo-and-Juliet romance?

But I'm 22 now, and have grown out of that phase (mostly)...I missed the original airings of seasons 6 and 7 because my hometown upstate cable provider doesn't carry UPN. Long story short, met a girl in college (now my best friend) who's equally obsessed with Buffy, and I caught up very quickly. She also introduced me to fan fiction. I don't remember how I found this site, but I'm definetely glad I have!

Apr 02 2007 08:27 pm   #90Spikez_tart

Chicago visitors - we still have the pickled babies and the coal mine, and the submarine is better than ever since they turned the damn thing on and recorded the engines.  Woo hoo - just like the sub that Spike and Angel were on.  I really loved the pickled babies when I was 10.  My mother didn't want me to look at them.

My real name is Charlotte and I may very well be the oldest broad on this site at age 53 (or 39 depending on who's asking).  I live in a northern suburb of Chicago, but was born in Louisville, which I miss.  I went to school at the University of Florida, Gainesville, so I'm still a southern girl at heart.

I found out about Buffy completely by accident since - I don't have a television.  My husband (who was hard core unemployed for a few weeks) was at the gym at lot during the day and saw some Buffy reruns.  The show was completely over by that time.  He came home and said "You've got to see this - it's great."  And, I said "Poo poo, it's a television show, therefore, L A M E."

He insisted and got some of the DVD's from the library, but he couldn't get them in order because the damn things are always out.  I think I watched Season 4, then 1, then 5, then 2 etc.  Please don't beat me, but I didn't like Spike at first.  I couldn't figure out why he was wearing that goofy hair or why he was acting so weird.  Then, I saw School Hard and the Season 2 episodes and became a die hard Spike fan.

I found a site called slayage, and started reading those articles.  Great stuff.  I think there may have been a link to Allaboutspike, which is a great site, but had already essentially closed down by the time I found it.  I stumbled on vampires kiss.  I never even heard of fanfiction, but I decided to give it a whirl and have been addicted ever since.  Not really sure how I found BSV, but I was thrilled to find a site that was up and active.

I read a lot of books and I have to say that many of the writers on this site are real pros.  I hope you're all writing some publishable stuff too.

Thanks Dia for keepin a great site going.

If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

Lostboy/Jarod -

I actually am not a journalism major. I'm majoring in anthropology, but I do write regularly for a paper on the side. Did you go to college in the city? When I read the journalism reference I immediately thought of either NYU or Fordham. I too always am pleased when I come across another NYer. With a city this large, there must be a decent amount of fanfic writers living here. Herself is the only NYer I know of for sure though.

Thanks for the info on Fangoria, Caro!

Hey ClawofCat-

I started my undergrad at Temple U in Philly, then transferred in my junior year to NYU.   But, back when I was taking classes I lived up in the Bronx with my friend who just graduated from Fordham, so I spent some time on that campus too.  It's got nothing to do with my job now, but I guess the writing bug never really leaves you.

Hello, I'm Ariel Dawn.  I've been on BSV for a long time now I guess.  I started posting here when Bloodshedbaby still did everything by hand.  She asked to post my fic, Future Childe and I guess the rest is history.

I got started writing Spuffy fanfic after a conversation with my cousin who told me that there was no way Spike could come back after Chosen.  Even Joss proved him wrong, sucker.

BSV was the first place I actually felt accepted in this fandom, and it is here that I made some really FAB friends.  It seems years ago that we all hung out in the old chat room cursing the gnomes and Dennis and talking about Spikesicles.  I still lurk in the background and read the tag on occasion, being nostalgic for the days not too long ago that it was myself, Copy, BTL, Opal and Athenewolfe that took it over for long long stretches.

*waves hello to everyone*

Hey, is Lost Boy the only guy here?  Cool beans, man.  I was gonna say something else, but I've forgotten...

Hi, I'm Jaesha...primarily a lurker at the BSV, but I'm sure some of you have heard of me.   Let's see here, I'm currently 24 and live in the Biggest Little City aka Reno, NV.  Mostly I just like to read Spuffy fanfic, but I have written a couple.

I don't really recall how I stumbled across the BSV, just that it was the first archive I had ever seen beyond Fanfiction.net.  Fell in love with the site and it's wonderful authors...BSB was probably the first author I read.  BSV really started my obsession with Spuffy and it grew from there.

Perhaps one day I'll be able to post something here, but as it is I am still treading the All-Human waters...and drowning, I might add.

Pretty much it, I'd say.

Hey AD *huggles* I agree, BSV was the first place I really felt accepted.

Hay all, my name is Montana, and I'm 19 years old. I've stumbled upon BSV a few weeks ago, and I can say it's making me very happy so far, because :spuffy:, and this site is all about that.

''I felt love for him. That tired, hopeless love which asks for nothing, which is satisfied only with a look and presence of her lover, love pointless and blind which drips from the inside with every beat of a heart. Love which doesn't ask for a touch, nor existence. Love which is here and now and which will be for forever. I wished that I could fall asleep in this moment. I would dream of him.'' Viktoria Faust

Sarah- seeing as your from the UK (i'm guessing cause you said secondary school), you can totally submit anything NC-17 as here you're legal from 16!

Umm...no... You still need to be 18 to post anything NC-17 rated.

The age of consent in Australia is also 16, but that doesn't mean you can watch R18+ (NC-17)  rated material,  the same goes for posting it.

Also, as it is Dia's site it is for her to say how old someone must be to post NC-17 rated fics.

Hello! My name is Moa and due to the fact that there are only crappy Spuffy sites in Germany, I already found BSV a long time ago but never registered...until recently!

I´m 20 and I love the show since I can remember...well...actually since first episode in Germany!

I was a Buffy/Angel fan first (yeah i know, I was soooo gay), but later on admired Spike more and more (2nd season). He was so...funny! And i loved it!

I think I´ve seen every episode twenty times but nevertheless I couldn´t identify with the whole fan vibe, you know...collecting every singly thing about the show and buying millions of posters and stuff.

Don´t get me wrong! I think its is ok if people express their admirtaion for the show by buying everything that the internet offers...but nevertheless it was never my ambition.

I love to read fanfictions, especially on BSV, because here you can find a lot of talented authors who really succeed in characterising Spike and Buffy the best way possible. You all do a wonderful job!

I hope my English is understandable...Reading is in my case not a problem, but writing...omg...I hate it! Sorry for the mistakes....

Au revoir

MOa from Germany

Apr 14 2007 03:21 pm   #112slaymesoftly

Welcome, MOa - Don't apologize! Your English is way better than my three or four words of German! LOL

Re the age thing - the age of consent varies from country to country, and even from state to state in this country (used to, anyway). I agree with Always - I doubt it that has anything to do with the legal definition of who can read or watch (or post) NC17 material. We don't want to be known as a site that encourages underage porn writing!  As I say on my web site when asking underage readers to go away - "You will be old soon enough - I promise you!"

I'm not a big fan of any form of censorship (other than "this is yucky, don't bother to read it. lol), as I've read whatever I could get my hands on my whole life  - and look how well I turned out!  *pause for snickers and rude remarks from C and Kat*  However, legal is legal, and I'm sure no one wants to do anything that might cause problems for Dia.

I know telling your age is an automatic thing when you're younger, but on this site, it's probably not such a good idea...:)

hello I usually go by winowjess, but honastly I'm mostly just a big lurker. I am an actor and sadly not a writer. I have been reading fanfics since 2003 and I've been reading here for a while.  I started  watching  buffy from the first episode anw was bangel for a short while till I saw spike.  anyway I am a thetre major at csu so im a brunette form Ga too.

Apr 17 2007 10:37 am   #116Inzey

I'm Inzey, or Ine. I'm young, younger than a lot of the other writers. I began watching Buffy on television at the end of season 5, I think... When season 7 ended, I got season 1 for Christmas, and just had to get the rest. I've only watched one or two episodes of Angel on televison 'cause the mean tv people would only show them after midtnight . *Growls* So I bought the Angel dvds. I've got angel season 1-3, and plan on bying the others soon. I've also got the Buffy movie.
I've discovered fan fiction around a year ago, by coincidence. I began by reading all the fics by Bitten, moved on to Vampires Kiss, then discovered BSV.
In the beginning I was a Bangel girl, but one of my favourites on the show was Spike, and I soon became a spuffy girl. And I have to add I was majorly dissappointed when there was no real Spuffy relationship.

Hi I'm Avalon and I read XD. I discovered Buffy around the middle of season 4. It was my b/f (now ex) who liked the show, and was always teasing me because I preferred Charmed. I rediscovered Buffy in season 7 and was hooked. I got the episodes in English because Spanish translation and dubs really sucks. I found this forum through somebodies LJ I think and so all I do nowadays is read LJ and read BSV.

Hi my name's Amy, penname angelic_amy. I'm a 23 year old Australian from Melbourne - IMO the best city in the world. *waves*

I've been a fan of Buffy since 'Welcome to the Hellmouth', which I watched when it first aired. I was 13 or 14 and was immediately infatuated with the characters, the plot, the witty dialogue and the 'ships. I watched the entire series through on TV with my teenage heart obsessed with Buffy/Angel. I loved them. Still do.

My appreciation of Buffy/Spike didn't begin until one day when I accidentally stumbled across a fanfiction posted on the forum at BuffyWorld.com  I liked it, thought it was interesting, and did a google search. From there I found BSC. After lurking and reading there for a few months I decided to try my hand at writing. Hidden Agendas was born. The more I wrote, read, reviewed and generally became involved in the fandom, the more I came to love the Buffy/Spike pairing. I've been writing now for a little over a year and a half.

My immersion in the Spuffy fandom has in no way decreased my appreciation for Bangel. I can watch and read Buffy with both of them. So I guess you could say I'm a split shipper. However, 99.9% of my writing is of a Spike/Buffy pairing. *grins*

I have the entire series on DVD, along with all of Angel and about... 50 or so novels. Actually, if it weren't for my enjoyment of the published works I may not have sought out fic in the first place! (Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder are incredible, as good as the writers and I'd recommend anyone read them.)

I didn't find the BSV, I was ordered to sign up here by Bloodshedbaby. She read my fic at BSC and asked me to sign up here. Which I gladly did. I mean, how flattering is that, being invited to join an archive by someone I held (and still hold) in high regard?!

I don't frequent the BSV as much as I used to, and that's mostly due to uni commitments taking up more time. Six more months and my course is finished. YAY!

I'm also the owner of Spark and Burn, a Spuffy fanfic awards site. We're currently taking nominations for Round 3 so go nominate your favourite fics!
