Grand Slam Concert & Con

Apr 08 2008 02:17 am   #1Immortal Beloved
Okay, I just submitted a new thread, but it's not showing up :grr:  I hate when that happens!  Anyway, if it pops up later, please ignore it :-P  I'll have to try to remember what I wrote...

Hideeho, fellow Bloodshed Babes!   I, Immortal Beloved, will be attending the Grand Slam Sci-Fi Summit this comming weekend in Burbank, CA.  Yes, that's right, ladies.  I'm getting my ass on a plane and flying 3,000 miles across the country for some Jimmy lovin'.  Andrew Lenk (yay, Andrew!) and Elizabeth Rhom will also be appearing.  As an added bonus, I get to see our fair state of California for the very first time.  If you'll be attending the Concert and/or the Convention, comment below and/or shoot me an e-mail via the bloodsheverse.  We can introduce ourselves, put some faces to names, and worship at the altar that is James :-)

I'm so frickin' excited!

I'm coming on Saturday, for con and concert. Still have to get my gen. admiss. ticket, but I've got front row to the concert, thanks to a friend having to cancel. Need to remember to stick a name badge on myself!

(hee hee, you're so excited, you wrote Andrew instead of Tom :P )

Crap :crap:  Guess I am excited :-P

I got concert tickets for me and Scarlet a few months ago.  We'll be in Row B, which I am assuming is the second row, provided whoever assigned numbers to the seats wasn't high at the time...

Need to remember to stick a name badge on myself!

I tried getting pictures of everyone at my first con, but I didn't end up recognizing anyone.  We need some kind of way to recognize eachother.  Name tags may not be a bad idea.  Or I could carry around a sign that says, "IB here."  :-P

The schedule up today has James' stuff starting at noon on Saturday. I'm glad I won't have to rush if I'm not there right by 10am.

hope you both have a great time and please post photos if you take any - if you don't have your own site, Flickr is a really easy way to post - plus you don't have to post only small res images as they auto post several sizes - you can get a free account

So many things to do and see in California - and if you have not seen a Ghery building you can visit the new symphony hall downtown - beautiful building and worth your visit -

I had a great time yesterday. Took some pics, but with a friend's camera, so I'll link once she puts them up.

James came in from Canada with two hours sleep, poor thing, but was in good spirits and looked good despite that. Really good. And I got a deep-voiced "Hey, baby" when I said "hi" passing him in a hallway. :D

IB, sorry I didn't get to meet you. I was in a rush leaving the house in the morning and forgot to make a nametag. Think I saw Scarlet, but I wasn't sure.

More later.

Most. Fabulous. Time. EVER...

I'm writing on my LJ soon, and posting one of two pics.  I unfortunately don't have access to a scanner and, well, I'll explain later.  Caro, what were you wearing?  I was there Saturday and Sunday.

Okay--that was annoying.  And I didn't know I wasn't logged in, so I can't delete all those posts.  I apologize.  What I was going to say was that IB and I were pretty much attached at the hip.  More later.

Alright, so I'm posting the events of this weekend at Fangoria in like three installments.  So far, one is up as well as one of my pictures, and you can see them here:  http://ms-scarletibis.livejournal.com/  It's not locked, so if you're not on my friends list, feel free to look anyway :D

I don't have pics, ha. Well, there are some of the back of my head, but that's probably not what you're looking for? :D

Grand Slam was lots of fun. I wish I could have done both days. Were you the one who left the concert before James' encore, Scarlet? I told IB I was going to have front row for the concert, so she should have come up to say hello. *poke*
Nice report so far.

Yes--I need face shots.  Face shots, damn it!  Lol.

The reason why I went both days is an interesting one...that's all I have to say about that (for now).  And yeah, I was the ding a ling who left before the encore.  I thought I had time to run to the ladies.  I had way too many fluids, and my poor bladder couldn't take it any longer.  So yeah, very embarassing.  And just so you know, I was *so* scanning the front row to see which one was you.  Of course, I was unsuccessful :(

Well, he was gone for a bit, but it did have to be a quick trip. ;)

I was sitting in A15 for the concert, so our left side of the stage. Ended up sitting on the floor in front of the first row during his Q&A, taking pictures for a friend. Mad_Brilliant and I were up there because some people had vacated their seats, but of course, they came back, lol.....so we plopped on the floor. But I got to tell James that Penn Badgley (who was his son on The Mountain) was on Gossip Girl now, as he was happy to hear.

Ah...I heard you say it, but I didn't see you say it.  I'm fairly certain I met Mad_Brilliant though at James' table.

The ladies working his merchandise table were Bookworm54 and Helcat.

Yep, that was my loud mouth. :D And the loud sneezes a couple times during the say in the main room? Me, too.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!   You guys started without me :grr:  Just kidding...Damned East Standard Time and overnight flight :-P

I think I may have seen you Caro.  In fact, if you were on the floor in front of the first row, then I must have seen you when I was taking pictures of James answering Scarlet's question.  That day, I was the one in brown, stage right (left if you are facing the stage), who forgot my question in my Jimmy haze. :-P  More on that later, but if you think you saw Scarlet, then you probably did.  It's kind of hard to miss the Amazonia Naomi Campbell look-a-like with cheekbones to rival James's.  :-)  I was scanning the front row during the concert, but we must have been on the other side of the auditorium :-(

I'm gonna post on LJ, too, but I'll link to it here.  I'm kind of jetlaggy right now, so I'm having trouble forming coherent thoughts :-P  But I concur that it was the best time--ever.

Yup, I was on our left on the floor. The one in the cap with the small silver camera. MB had her really, really nice cam next to me.

See, these descriptions just don't help at all...My attention was diverted you guys.  Jeebus :crap: j/k

And IB, I'm sure that's not the only reason you're having trouble forming coherent thoughts...  That's all I'm gonna say about that.

Thanks for the con report, Immortal Beloved.

I love the biting picture of you and Jimmy.  If I ever get a chance to see Mr. James Marsters then that would be the pose that I would want.  You both look gorgeous and happy. I'm so jealous of you. : p

Yeah,  we love our James but  his fashion is bad. But he is so adorable with some of the things he wears. Like the Hawaiian shirt. May not be the best shirt but at least it is a nice and small. It shows off that hot bod off his. The man is looking fit.

So I'm glad that you had a wonderful time. Thanks for taking the time to tell us fans who couldn't go your experience. I always enjoyed reading those. It makes me feel like I'm right there with you.

thanks

Awesome reading and photos from everyone that was there!  Lets the rest of us live vicariously...

I know there's the james_daily photo community on LJ, but there should really be some place where everyone's James encounters can be collected...
