It looks like several sites have opened nominations, though voting isn't until later. I'm new and I was wondering, is it that a story just needs to be nominated once and it gets voted on, or does it need a second nomination or more to qualify?
Spuffy Awards is voting now, though Spark and Burn Awards are still open to nominations.

The process is slightly different for each award site, but I don't know of any that require nominations to be "seconded," so to speak. So, only one person needs to nominate a fic in order for it to be considered. I think most awards have one or more moderators who screen the nominations to make sure the fic or art meets the criteria for the category, but some will just accept any nominations they get.

Generally, the site emails individuals to let them know they've been nominated. Some sites require the nominee to reply to the email to accept the nomination, while others ask that you reply if you wish to decline the nomination for some reason.

Awards are determined by either judges, voting, or some combination of the two, depending on the site.

After asking the usual suspects and being told that no, they were not responsible, I would just like to thank the kind soul who nominated my little Mid-Winter ficlet  The Longest Night at the  Rogue Poet Awards.

It was very much appreciated! *HUGS*

Thanks to the kind person who nominated Beer Foamy at Spuffyawards.  Sadly, I am up against Nautibitz.

I am psyched for two reasons:

1).  My story "Clocks of the Long Now" is currently nominated at two fanfiction sites:

Rogue Poet Awards
Best Work in Progress
Best Angst

Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards
Best Angst - Spuffy
Best Characterization - Male (Andrew)
Best Orginal Character (Melvin)
Best Post-Series Finale Fic
Best Unfinished
Best Plot - Spuffy

2) Nmcil just made me an incredible banner.  It is a creative, original and gorgeous work, and I'm so proud to have it associated with my story.  You can check it out on BSV here.  Also, nmcil has a whole treasure chest full of banners she is offering to interested authors, which you should check out here.

Thanks again to nmcil and thanks to the people who nomm'ed me!

Well, my fic "Work In Progress" was nominated in several categories at the Sunnydale Memorial Awards and the Rogue Poet Awards.
as well as my Spangel short "Destined."  My other short, "Jesus to a Child," was nominated at the Cradle of Humanity Awards: http://community.livejournal.com/cradle_of_human/

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program :P

Congratulations to our own Lilachigh for her win at Spuffy Awards

Wow and double wow! Agnes Pringle from Business as Usual has won the Judges Award in the Spuffy Awards, Round 16, for Best Original Character!

This is amazing. I am so pleased especially seeing the quality of stories on offer to the judges. Congratulations to all the winners on the list. Do go and check them out. There are some great stories.

Although all of my BSV stories are currently blank, making any claim to being a Bloodshedverse writer a bit wobbly, I figured I'd mention that I currently have a few non-Spuffy short stories nominated for Round Ten of the Fang Fetish Awards and one at the Shades of Grey Awards. These are the stories, if anybody would like to check 'em out:

Don't Say Anything, featuring Sheila and Anya, Season 3
The Scourge Does Titipu, featuring The Fanged Four, 1885
Tipperary, featuring Spike and Dru, 1916

Good luck to all the terrific writers and artists that keep the love alive!

Just want to annouce that the latest round at Seasonal Spuffy is now posted  - this is a round devoted to poetry as the influence - some excellent work from all the members and from the BSV writers.  Hope that you will check out my enteries which are based on Federico Garcia Lorca lectures on the Andalusian "deep song" - "cante jondo" - would appreciate it as once again, I seem to be one, of only a very few people,  interested in the work I do within the Buffyverse community.

Started my posting for "Buffy 12 Years" Anniversary Project at The Whedon World Gallery   www.whedonworld.com

Still very much interested in having some of the wonderful writers from The Bloodshedverse submit writing for the project - works to go with images and of course writers will have links to any sites they want and can use their combined text with images for their own use.  If you have any drables, ficlets, essays or even an article on how this great series has impacted your life - how has The Buffyverse connected with you in your creative work or your everyday world - if you have some artwork that you would like to contribute also very happy to post.  Only thing is that this is not an Adult Only site.  Check out the images at Whedon World - I also have images at my flickr site that can be used - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nmcil/sets/72157619336869268/    and I can make specific characters upon requests.  Still have lots to do, but at least the first part of the project is posted.  Next part will be Buffyverse and Angel quotes.  Also looking for Buffy Film Poster treatments and Fan Comic Covers -

Check Out the site Thursday afternoon - and please let me know if you are interested in contributing any work -

AJ Hofacre has graciously allowed me to post her wonderful story "Yearly"  as part of my 12 year anniversary project  -  THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH

nmcil, I really don't think this thread is the appropriate place for your whedonworld announcements and promotions. We would like it very much if you could limit those to one thread - either one that you've already begun, or a new one on which you will update information about your site as you need to.  Thanks,
