Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Okay I'd never seen any of the other Underworld movies before seeing Rise of the Lycans. I saw is yesterday and loved it. Great story with the vamps keeping the lycans as slaves and Sonja and Lucian's love story was amazing and tragic.

Anway, went out and bought the first Underworld movie to watch. It was alright, but I guess I liked the story and setting of Rise of the Lycans more.

Anyone else seen any of the movies?

I've seen both Underworld movies, but I haven't seen the new one yet.  I'll probably be waiting for DVD with that one.
When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

So glad to hear a review of the new movie.  I saw the first one and liked it.  Saw the second one and LOVED it.  Now I have this to look forward to.  Thanks!

Thanks for starting this thread - I was planning on doing one - I think it would be great to discuss some of the other Vampire films and books.  I have seen all of the Underworld films - liked all of them, and LOVED this one.  Even if you have not seen the other films, you will be able to follow this one easily.  I will add, with pleasure, this new film with my Underworld collection.

I really enjoyed seeing the history of the Lycans - and the politics and social structures of the Underworld Realm -

Those of you who have seen it - what did you think of the treatment of her father?

Anyone watching Moonlight?

I've seen the first two movies and  I really enjoyed them.  I'm looking forward to watching the third one.  Sounds really good.

I watched Moonlight.  Liked some aspects of it.  Disliked others.  Many of the episodes were written like bad fan fiction.  But Jason Dohring as Josef was worth watching most of it.  I just love that guy.  He made a great vampire in the Moonlight Verse.

I loved Moonlight, still pissed that it got cancelled.

I watched Moonlight a few times because I love Jason Dohring -loved him on Veronica Mars- but I never fully got into the show despite Jason being his usual amazing self.

I really liked the first Underworld.  Not so much the last one.  But I definitely plan to see the current one based on the rave reviews.

Re Moonlight.  Loved the series!  So glad to see it finally out in DVD.  From what I read, some of the cast members got along so badly that it was not possible to continue shooting because of the atmosphere.  The ratings were acceptable after all.

What did you read about the Moonlight cast Joyce?

It's been months since I read it and sadly didn't copy to my hard drive even though I was an avid watcher of the show.  Bad luck was on the set from the get go...5 different show runners at the helm with 5 different artistic visions, the writer's strike, casting and recasting etc.  When I first heard of the show in 2007 there was a completely different cast and David Greenwalt was supposed to be on board..then he was gone.    I don't remember the article but someone said a couple of cast members were fighting and they were taking down the set before the cancelled order was given.  Sorry but that's all I can remember.

I watched the first one with my cousine resently (she kept going on about vampires not being visible in mirrors:P), and i didn`t really care for it that much. But since everyone`s saying so many nice things about this one, i`ll probably drag someone to the cinema soon:).

Is Joel Silver the executive that decided to cancel Angel?
