Reminder that Moonshot is on tonight - you have a chance to watch the film two times tonight on The History Channel - check your local schedules

shop.history.com/detail.php

Or supposedly Shopusa.com, but I went there it was a link to more links one being Amazon.com and I knew the 2009 version wasn't there.  So I'd buy it from the History Channel.

For those who were unable to watch it.  You can pre-order it from the History Channel's Store.

I watched "Moonshot" last night and posted a running commentary on my LJ.  Feel free to comment with your thoughts on the movie over there...or on here.  Wherever :-)

If JM wasn't in Moonshot I would have never watched it.  It's not my kind of movie/show.   He's the only actor I recognized in the show too.  LOL

Ditto.

I will say that it was much better than the average television movie, and mos def worth the watch.  It was a great project for James.

I thought it was excellent - considering how touchy the subject of the private lives of the astronauts and the goal of the film, a tribute and celebration of this world wide momentous event for our entire species.  I was glad that they featured Buzz Aldrin since that gave James Marsters plenty of screen time.  It was wonderful seeing the historical footage and so poignant seeing Walter Cronkite knowing that he died just a few days short of this anniversary.

It was so good to see JM doing a role that was not supernatural or scifi - introduce him to the people who don't know him as Spike or even know him at all - great that not only JM has made new introductions, but that the Spike-JM fans have discovered this wonderful channel - they have some great programs.

The History channel store has the DVD for sale, you can buy it as a 2 disc historical set or as an individual "Moonshot" - however not sure of the dates for release -
James Marsters must have been well pleased to get a chance to do this film knowing his big interested in history and the society.

I think he did a wonderful performance and I loved that line of Buzz Aldrin about the moon landscape - here are a couple of Aldrin quotes.  For those who did not get a chance to watch, I  think "Moonshot" repeats this Saturday.

“Upon stepping foot on the moon, Buzz remarked to Houston, 'Beautiful, beautiful. Magnificent desolation.'”

“For every winner, there’s a loser. And that person didn’t really need to lose. They just didn’t understand the game plan.”

my husband and i watched the original history channel airing of moon shot on monday night; i'd been looking forward to it for a month! anyway, it was really good and not just because i am a JM fan. i loved how the actors (all of them) displayed a more modern sensibility in their demeanor, as opposed to that 50's/60's down with love a la zellweger/mcgregor behavior that is so typical of movies from or about that time period.

next up, high plains invaders, on the syfy channel. this movie, starring JM as a cowboy who will help take a stand against an invading alien force, will air sundayaugust 30th at 9pm!

You have another chance to watch "Moonshot" tonight and on Aug. 1 - check your local schedule for The History Channel - "High Plains Invaders" never did make it to my Comcast On Demand" menu - If anyone managed to get it through their ODM, let me know where you found it - I looked through all the ODM categories that seemed reasonable and never did come across it.

Hi ~ Thanks so much for the info on "Moonshot"!! I found High Plains Invaders on my On Demand for Time Warner listed as "Plains Invaders" I don't know why because the title hadn't changed but that's how it was listed! ~ Kelly
