Updated Beta List May 30 2010 04:22 am #1slaymesoftly Just bumping this up and adding a bit about where to find help. Just a reminder to those who have already put their names and contact info on the current beta list that it is just as important to remove your name, or to make a note to that effect, if and when you are not accepting any more authors. It saves a lot of time and frustration for authors if they can tell who is worth contacting and who won't be interested. Another point - even if you aren't interested in taking on anyone new, it is just the considerate thing to do to reply to the author and let them know that you can't help them. The new list never got to be what we wanted it to be (numbers-wise), so I'd like to remind some of our newer members that it's there. Just in case you'd like to volunteer to be that extra set of eyes for someone... :) You don't have to be an expert at grammar or punctuation to be a proofreader who catches typos and plot holes. Just be honest in your write-up about what your strengths and weaknesses are so that you can be matched up with someone who needs or wants what you have to offer. There are also forum entries under the Support function that can help you help your writer with punctuation and grammar issues I am not a minion of Evil... I am upper management. Also, I just took a look at the beta list and I see that we have added a few more people, so that's good. With luck, some of them will be available to authors looking for that extra set of eyes.
