Right there with you, and again this same fiction was requested in Spuffy Realm.  It's not necessary to ask in both places.
When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

I don't mind the asking both places. There may be people on here who are not on TSR and vice versa, but when you ask for a fic and the "looking for a fic" thread is right on top... Plus, the very one you're asking for may already be on the thread, so it's just duplication of effort as well as cluttering up the forum.  I'm thinking the title of the fic thread needs to be "Please ask about fics on there" or something that makes it more clear what it is. Will be pondering it today.

Could have it locked so no new thread can be made and people have to post their questions in a pre-made thread.  Start 2-3 new threads Looking For Fics, Looking For Fics-All Human, and whatever other category, then lock it so people can only post in those. I've done similar on forums I ran before, not sure what forum program is being used here for sure but it should be possible in the settings somewhere.

Dia wrote this script herself. It's the reason why we can be so responsive to what members would like to have, but it also means only she can make changes to it. I'm just going to start new threads with clearer titles and see what happens.

What has changed with the Fan Fiction Request and how members are using it now.  I have been a member for a long time and I don't remember having members start a thread for one individual story -

Have a questions - I found a recommend for the old site but don't see the story or author here now - if an author leaves the site, are their works automatically taken off the list of works?
” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.”

We've had a sudden flurry of people doing individual requests for fics instead of using the thread. I've made a new thread that more specifically says "ask about fics here". We'll see if that works.

If an author leaves the site, the stories will remain unless and until she/he takes them down. However, most authors who leave, do take their fics with them. An author leaving the site is different from one who just stops writing in this fandom and isn't posting anymore.  We don't do anything with the fics, but the authors can control whether or not they remain on the site.
