I found this (older) article earlier, and since we're always discussing the "rules" beind the vampire-concepts in different novels/movies/shows, I thought some of you might be interested in how it all started.

I haven't seen the book, so I don't know how detailed it is, but the bits mentioned in the article are quite interesting. I mean, I knew about the beginnings of vampire-folklore, but I DID wonder where the more outlandish bits came from. According to this author, most of present-day vampire-lore is not based on our ancestors misinterpreting nature, but on what writers and movie-makers made up - and no, those two are not neccessarily connected. Anyway, have fun.

This guy acts like vampires aren't real.
