Okay, after such a nice week *sarcasm*... and being sick as a dog... I was wondering if anyone would like do a bit of collab or something to help get my muses going again. I really hope this doesn't open the doors for all sorts of types to come out of the woodworks, because no matter what you think of me... I'm too nice to tell someone to go away until they really get me upset. But hopefully, some nice writer who I enjoy reading will offer *big hopeful eyes* hehe

I really have been wanting to try my hand at something a bit different lately.

..... okay.... please?... I'm going insane here from constantly refolding shirts only to have stupid, annoying, obnoxious customers immediately ball them up again............. I think it would be justifiable homicide...right? (Anyone in North Georgia want to come pester a poor girl at GAP tomorrow or wednesday... or this weekend even? *bats eyes* lol )

Have you had a look at any of the drabble or prompt communities on LJ? They can be really helpful for waking up a reluctant muse.

joss100, open_on_sunday and still_grr are all good ones.

I've never really written a drabble before... to me, I'm not even sure how people do it, hehe. Maybe I'm too long winded or scatterbrained or... obviously ramble-y........ *sweatdrop*

But thank you, I did look at some challenges... might try LJ next.

LOL...No worries. Yep, drabbles can be an excercise in frustration trying to say what you want in just 100 words, but they can be very rewarding too.

WriterconUK is also having a banner grab atm... (see my pimp post for the link) they might have something that inspires.

I didn't think I could do drabbles, either, BF, but Always talked me into it.  I have to say, it is a wonderful writing exercise - even if you end up not liking what you did and trashing it.  It really helps you learn to pare your words down to what is necessary and will provide the most bang for the buck.  Learning how to capture a moment or an emotion in only 100 words (exactly 100, if you are doing a true drabble) is invaluable.

Well, I was going to try drabbles for the prompt comms that I did join... lemme see which ones they were... 50 kinky ways, slash me twice, and 100 moods I think... yeah... I can try to work through the prompt tables. I just also really wanted to do a collab with a good writer. The ones I started before, I liked, and how you had another brain, hehe. I just have a problem with them disappearing like Thianna did.

BF - lots of good challenges here. 

I should try to write some more drabbles, especially original fic drabbles because I found when I wrote some btvs drabbles it helped me to focus in on a tiny thing and made my writing a bit more descriptive.  Descriptive writing is where I'm a bit weak.  I often take the lazy way out.  And the EASY solution is to write MORE but that ends up boring the reader, I want to write LESS but more descriptively so it has that punch.

BF, it sounds like you're not so much just looking for inspiration, as really just wanting to write a fic with someone else...which is an excellent idea! I would do a collab with you, but I'm already in the process of two :( ... but that sounds like a fun idea, writing a fic together with someone else is a very rewarding and educational experience, I've discovered that through my work with TwilightChild on The Last Storm, and also a Spillow fic we're doing.

Hopefully someone else will see this post who has the time to spare to do a collab with you! *hugs*

I'm not sure how appropriate I think it is that you post a request like the one above, where you clearly state that you are hoping to get your muses going again, and then complain on your LJ about the responses you get here that address that issue.   If you didn't want to hear the suggestions of other ways to get the muse going, why didn't you just say so on here?  A simple "I'm really more interested in a collaboration, thanks" would have sufficed nicely.

Also, if you'll take a look at what you wrote about hoping you weren't "opening the door to all sorts of types to come out of the woodwork" it might give you some idea why you didn't get a lot of people wanting to do a collaboration...
