West Wing

Anyone else watched this? I'd like to know what you thought of S7. Noticed it went downhill a bit after Sorkin left, and HollyDB, who got me into this, didn't have too many good things to say about S7. Thing is, I can't get the S7 DVDs as cheap as the others, so I'd like to know if anyone thinks they are worth it.

Hi, I adore West Wing and am waiting for the whole box set to appear. Season 7 is complicated, mainly because it is all about getting the new guy elected so if you have only a passing knowledge of American politics, some of the episodes are, frankly, a bit boring. But hey, Josh and Donna! What isn’t there to love. And there’s loads of fanfic out there, too.

West Wing Season 7 was better than 5 or 6. Of the all the Sorkinless seasons, it was definitely my favorite. And speaking as someone who has worked (and lived and died) with a presidential election, the writers were brilliant in creating the atmosphere of an actual campaign. I remember getting really worked up over it...

Plus Season 7 has the return of Sam and Ainsley...albeit briefly. And a bunch of stuff that fans waited forever to see happen actually happen.

And every time I think of TWW, I get all this "I haven't worked on GoCR" guilt.

Whops, sorry Holly, wasn't my intention to guilt you. Guess I'm gonna go ahead and get the last set of DVDs too, huh? Oh well, having some idea of what's going to happen but not really having seen it suchs anyway. LOL

Oh and Lil, you're from the UK, right? The complete box set can be preordered at amazon in case you're interested. (I can only buy UK imports, that's why I know that.) But if you want a tip, go and buy the individual seasons via the marketplace. Much cheaper (and the ones I got were unopened too)...

Ok, ordered it. Wow, this will be the only series I have all the DVDs of. For everything else, I refused to waste money on some of the seasons.
