In The Initiative, we hear the commandos say that they've got one at "room temperature," inside the dorm room.  I think it was like 62 or 63 degrees, which seems a little low for room temp.  But is this the only reference we get to vamps' body temps?

Do you think the commandos meant literally room temperature, or were they just commenting on vamps' lack of heat?  I guess what I'm getting at here, is that a) vampires are always cold because they're dead, or b) they have no body heat, so whatever temp is around is the temp they are.  If they were inside, they would be room temp, but if they were outside, they could be any temperature.

In the AtS episode "Eternity", the actress Angel is protecting comments, when she touches him, that "I've felt colder".  So, I would guess that they're room temperature, not really cold.

In at least one of the Blade movies, they do something similar... haven't watched in awhile so if someone else has a clearer memory...

Well, in that case...room temperature, huh, so then vamps would be a regular human's body temp when it's above 95 degrees outside, huh? 

Yeah, I believe they can still soak up ambient heat, like anything does. And they should be warmer if they've just fed, too.

I think that was a fic...  they're always going to feel cooler to a human, b/c of our body temperature, but I don't think they're actually cold.  Probably be nice to cuddle up to when the a/c is on the fritz and it's 100% humidity.  Hmmmm.   Cuddling with JM.  Hmmmmmm.  Ok, I'm back.

Someone may have asked Spike about the leather in a fic, but the actual exchange on the show was with Angel, in the episode where he goes to see the swami:

Magev:  "Oh. So, why all the layers, all the black?  You know it's been about 80 degrees in the shade lately."
Angel:  "No reason.  I-I don't have a body temperature so..."
Magev:  "So it's for the look."

Of course, "I don't have a body temperature" sounds like "I have no breath." *sigh* Yes, Angel, you DO have a body temperature. Everything has a temperature... it just isn't normal human temperature.

You know, when we first meet Drusilla, she tells Spike that she's "cold," and he instantly puts his coat around her.

And I think what Angel meant was...well, it'd have to be hotter to get him hot, since his temp is so low.  Maybe if he went out in a dessert when it's 120 degrees or something, he'd be discomforted by a hot ass coat (nevermind that it would be protecting him from the sun).
