P.S. I Love You Trailer

Sep 28 2007 06:31 pm   #1Scarlet Ibis

Super glad he's doing "Smallville" again.  And here's the trailer to "P.S. I Love You."  I dunno...I don't have a good feeling about the film. (Crosses fingers JM will get another movie role where he has actual screen time, and where the movie will be kick ass).  Not sure if the embed thing will work, so here's the link to where I found it on myspace first:

Doesn't look like the embedding worked.... I'm a little surprised to see James in the trailer at all. He's talked about it being a "blink and you'll miss it" role, so I wasn't expecting much at all. Still, it's a very big-name cast, which can only be good for James, as it will bring more attention to the movie. He certainly has the potential to be noticed, even in a small part.

Personally I'm disappointed he's doing Smallville again, lol. I don't watch the show (read: I refuse to watch it even if James is on it), so I'd rather see him do something else with his time. I might fast forward and just watch the James scenes... but I didn't even do that much for his last stint as Brainiac.

Oo guess I'll have to watch Smallville again... I hope he doesn't have that bald, green thing going on like comic brainiac, lol

And I watched the trailer, that's looking like a cute movie and made by Devil Wears Prada people (which i liked, but mostly for Anne Hathaway, of course, hehe)

Unfortunately, we had big vampires in the next room, and I didn't think they'd wait while we had hot monkey sex. ~Cerulean Sins :: (Anita to Jean-Claude)“Is there anything your bloodline does that doesn’t involve getting naked?" ~Danse Macabre :: I’m dating three men, living with two more, and having occasional sex with two others. Did anyone who saw P.S. I Love you catch the "Buffy" reference?  I guess the people behind the movie knew who their audience might be...and who they'd be watching... LOL

James is actually sprinkled throughout the first half of the movie.

Yup, Smallville, starting either Jan 31 or Feb 7th. He's in episodes 10 and 15, minimum.

What was the Buffy reference in P.S. I Love You?

Jan 04 2008 11:22 pm   #7TammyDevil666

I really loved the movie.  The Buffy reference was basically something about Vampire Slayers not existing when the main character was looking for a new job, I just burst out laughing when I saw that part.  I think it could have also had something to do with Hilary Swank, since she was in the original Buffy movie.

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.

I think it's more likely that it was a reference to Hilary, since the scene was solely focused on her, but it works for both of them.

James is in "P.S. I love you"? How did I not know this - clearly the UK trailer is too short. Will now have to go see it, which is kind of a shame, as it hasn't appealed much so far. On a related note, he's also going to be in the next series of "Torchwood" - a "Doctor Who" spin off, for the majority of people who have never even heard of it. From the adverts it looks like a pretty major role too - so excited!

The reference to Buffy in PS I Love You could go to both James and Hilary Swank. But I think it is mostly for James. I say this because James is mostly known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When someone mentions James then they mention Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Hilary Swank is not known for Buffy the movie.

The director's wife was and maybe still be a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and became a fan of James. She is the one who told her husband about James and the show. I think she got him to like the show and James. Who could not like Spike and  James' acting.

Yes, I know there are a lot of Spike haters out there too. But I say Spike is more loved than hated.

Maybe.

I liked PS I Love You too. Seeing James playing a happily married man makes me smile.

Also, the part where James and Lisa Kudrow were talking at the table was funny.

Also, the part where James and Lisa Kudrow were talking at the table was funny.

That felt like a James shout-out to me, since fans have been discussing the existence (or lack thereof) of James' flat ass for years, lol. Most likely a coincidence, though. ;)

Ha, I loved that scene with James and Lisa Kudrow.  I just love her, she cracks me up.  I also liked seeing James happily married, and the end with him holding the baby was definitely an aww moment.

I've seen P.S I love you 2x it was fantastic. Its my new favorite movie next to Roman Holiday. Its got drama, comedy, and by golly a heaping helping of man candy! James of course, Gerry Buttler, Harry Connic Jr., and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. (The irish accents aren't that great, but the singing makes up for it) Its a lovely story, and I encourage everyone to go see it especially if you're into chick flicks. (Randi Giles)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so hot, even if the accent was fake.  I loved him in Supernatural, but James was my main reason for watching the movie.  Everything else was just an added bonus;)

Ok, maybe I will see this movie now, lol. I wasn't to into seeing since *gasps* The only dude in there I found sexy is James, and I didn't feel like sitting through a movie that I wouldn't enjoy just to catch snit bits of him. So thanks for the reviews!

Oh, c'mon GB!  James is of course, the epitome of sexy, but Gerard Butler is H-O-T!!!   Too bad he won't be running around in a loincloth in this movie, but still!  The accent, the smile, the eyes??  Like I said:  H-O-T!  ;-)

You know what, GB? I felt the same way. None of the other guys in the movie do anything for me (not even Gerard Butler, sorry), and I didn't even like the movie all the much, but I still thought it was worth it for the Jamesy bits. It's actually more than "snit bits" - he's got a decent role, seen pretty consistently through the first half of the movie. And he's just too adorable for words. If you don't want to pay the ticket price just for James, I'd definitely at least rent it when it comes out on DVD - and that way you could just skip to the Jamesy parts.

Gerard Butler is only hot, for me anyway, in "300."  Um...the Irish singing guy who's Jerry's friend?  Was in s3 of "Angel."  Just saw the ep last night, and don't recall the name.

Anyway, I saw most of this movie, and I found myself sitting and thinking "come on, get back to James!" I think part of the problem is...Hillary Swank.  I think she should stick to drama, and the role would've been better suited for oh say, Jennifer Garner.  Comedy isn't for everyone.

And how awesome would this film have been had James been Jerry?  Or even the Harry Connick Jr. (who is just not hot in any sense of the word for me, but I loved his work in that film he did in "Copycat") part?

See, I love funny guys, and though I haven't seen the movie yet, the scene where Hilary Swank is bitching about having to be responsible, and he's in the other room going "yada-yada-yada"??  I just love that scene; so for me, that makes him hot.  However, while I'm sure that there simply isn't enough James in the movie for me, I'll still be going to the show to see it, and then probably either downloading it or buying it when it comes out.  I own Shadow Puppets, for God's sake.  A little Hilary Swank isn't going to turn me away from Jimmy.

SpikesKat I have to agree with Eowyn, Gerard does nothing for me. Okay, in 300 he did. OMG! Can we say eye candy all around! *squee* I watched that movie for days.

I think I'll wait to see it on DVD though. It'll be out soon enough.

I haben't seen the film yet but i just watched the trailer. I'm so excited because nothing james is in is EVER aired over here. Gerard Butlers accent is absolutely appalling though! (sorry it had to be said) Do you here him much during the film because i think that will definately put me off it. =(
