In "My Account" I've tried putting a link to my avatar (with all sorts of variations) and it won't show up. Tried the direct link, tried it with the img src coding, etc.....still no go.   All I keep seeing is the red x of doom where my icon should be.

Any idea what my big stupid self is doing wrong?

Odd. can you give me the link for your avatar? Maybe I have a bug in the code or something, I'd like to check up on it. - You can use YM if you prefere not to post the link here...

This is how I did it, i don't know how others do it

First I put my avatar on photobucket and got the code, there are three codes there you get the third one it will have [IMG] on the front of the code and at the end, delete the [IMG] from both sides and the code should work

Ahhh, it seems that the link that PhotoBucket gave me contained a symbol that wouldn't jive here.

I loaded it into my LJ gallery and now it seems to be working.

Ok, the percent sign has been added to the list of allowed characters.

Just in case a problem like this pops up again, the rules for URLs are:

• MUST start with: http://
• the part behind the http:// must have between 6 and 242 characters
• it may contain the following characters: a-z A-Z 0-9 . : % / - _
• but no blanks!
