The Lighthouse by Scarlet Ibis Wonderful - this is really excellent and so very sad - a perfect description. Thank you so much :D I find it easy to delve into the Spike character, so if there are anymore missing moments, I'll probably write them straight away ;) Nice tender portrait of Spike. In a perfect world, Buffy would have heard him and pondered upon it. We can dream... In this fic, she did hear him, but she just wasn't listening, unfortunately :P Thank you--I'm glad you liked it. When I saw the title, I suspected it might be a reference to Virginia Woolf, and I was so pleased with the quote that opened this. It set the tone perfectly and let me know exactly what I needed to see in this story. Lovely, lovely, and you say so much in so few words. I was taking notes on this essay about Spike, and then for whatever reason, that book jumped out at me, and this scene (with the aide of recalling James' daily for the last scene in AYW) more or less wrote itself. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you :D Beautiful and heartbreaking. She was letting him in that night, I'm sure - and then it all went wrong. You captured everything so wonderfully here. Thank you so much--I'm glad you liked it :D Winchester Hemery 01/12/2009 04:16 am ...For nothing was simply one thing. That was beautiful. Thank you so much :D I'm glad you liked it. That as too sad and truthful. I like how Buffy pretends to be sleeping so she can let him be tender. That's very nice. Her pretend sleep's a catch 22--she also doesn't want to talk to him ;) Thank you--I'm glad you liked it :D | |||
