tender and beautiful--I wish you had been a writer for the show.  Seasons 6 and 7 would have been so much sweeter!  You have a real talent for wording your ideas.  For example, I love when you wrote, "His unfailing hope, the hope that had let him court his enemy despite all obstacles, was harder to defend these days. He’d gotten the soul so that she could love him, but it didn’t work that way. In a twist of irony that even Shakespeare would appreciate, the soul simply meant that now he didn’t even like himself."    That is powerful writing!

ooh this  is beyond lovely. to paraphrase Buffy, It was good cause it had all the unconfortable awkwardness between them in S7 but a shimmer of hope  still shone and it wasn't cheesy.
