You captured the essence of Spike's wonder in these little bits. Lovely!
This is truly beautiful! I love the way you wrote it in such concise, little vignettes letting the reader fill in the details from our own knowledge of the show. Very clever...and sweet. It just makes me even more sorry that season 6 ruined their relationships so badly because, you are absolutely right--at this stage there was so much hope and goodness.
