I don't know why I haven't found this fabulous little fic before - yay for Spike reactions, no longer loves bitch but his own man making decsions for him first (but will probably always love Buffy anyway). Really well written and should be how it goes, let's see what happens in season 9! On by the way liked that Buffy was jealous of Illyria.

standalone ficlet
This is so good! I'll admit I'm a Spuffy shipper, but I do like how Spike has become his own man without Buffy. If they do ever resume a relationship (which is highly unlikely), in no way would I want it to start like Buffy and Angel's reunion in Season 8. I'm perfectly happy with Spike and Buffy being really close friends who understand each other really well (and Angel can go die in a hole :P. Just kidding. I don't hate him. I just don't like him as Twilight).
But yeah, really great fic. Really well written. :)

Noo...a SPUFFY shipper at the BSV? Perish the thought! ;) Lol, but I do think that Spike has changed, and I'm worried that the writers will forget that in favor of making him Love Interest #2 and not even GET the girl. :( I just wanted them to have some healthy resolution. :)

I have! It's at LJ, if you have one- flocked, but three more chapters of a WIP. I'm not sure of where it's going yet, but if it does become Spuffier, I may post it here, too.
I like how Spike is his own man in this ficlet...something he needed at this time.
Yep, that's what I was going for. I'm dreading the idea of Spike being relegated to "love interest" again... :(
Oh wow. I really like this. I love how you portrayed Spike here. He's finally taking charge of his life and choosing what is right for him. Great mini story.

Thank you. This. Makes. Sense. Unlike the comics. And I do love Spike being the one who has his priorities straight, standing on his own two feet and coping with what Angel, Buffy, and The Universe (tm) have just thrown at him.
My pleasure! I love how Spike has evolved since the end of BtVS, and I don't want him to revert back into Buffy's b*tch now- he's always been the one who saw past all the lies straight to the target, and I hope he's the same way in the actual comics... :)
