Prophecy Girl
I love this! I just got around to checking it out, and read it all... Season 2 please? The stroy change, with the old familiar scenes, is fun and enjoyable, but what makes this really good is the emotional scenes. You write feeling in such an evocative way, I hurt and rejoice along with the characters... it's really lovely. Can't wait to see what happens next...

Super update, It would have been so easy to run away, but I suppose It was never really an option. At least she knows Spike will stay with her through thick and thin.

Out of Mind, Out of Sight

So glad Buffy and Spike have finally ironed out any misunderstandings and it's good he's finally introduced himself to Gile's. Offering him a gift no less, should earn him a few brownie points. Wonder how the Scoobs will react.

Well it seems everytime they take one step forward, they take another two back. Maybe they should start communicating in mime. Super update.

Buffy really is a dumb blonde, I wish once in a while she could trust her own judgement. Lets hope she's seen the light now. Great update.

Well hey now... I don't know if I'd say she's a dumb blonde. Maybe more just a confused teenager in a really unique and difficult situation. Plus, she's insecure to begin with, being a teenaged girl and all :)

Anyhoo, thank you so much- as always -for your wonderful comments and review. Glad to see you're still enjoying it, and can't wait to hear what you think of the next one :)

The Puppet Show
Really loving this take! Staying true to events, but all of Spike's behaviour is totally Spike in those situations, even if he is all souled up. And very believable young Buffy/souled Spike interactions too, I think. Good stuff. Keep it up!
I'm glad to see that people are approving of the characterizations, and the interactions between them so far. Thank you so much :)

This sounds silly but I hope she listens to the puppet!
Hehe, any other fandom, that would sound silly. Around here, that's just darn reasonable!! ;) :D

I, Robot... You, Jane

Buffy's up and down like a yoyo as usual, gaaargh. It's a wonder she's not feeling sea sick. Make up your mind woman. Great update..

Haha, yup. That's how she rolls. Glad you enjoyed :D

I really like this idea you have and I think that you´re doing a great job with it. About your pesonal life - if you can keep your mind occupied with something that is not so related to the said personal life - the personal life gets easier to handle. Like writing fanfic :)
Great chapter anyway
Thank you so much :)

Haha, it's not that my personal life is unkind to me mentally/emotionally... it's just that it leaves zero time for the writing of the fanfic, lol. I'm all 'hey look! Free time!', then life goes 'Sorry, but no'.

Very glad you're enjoying it though. Thanks again for your comments :D

Sometimes I really hate Xander and for a supposed man of intellect Gile's can be pretty dim. Arrrgh...
Great writing, love it.

Yay, great update. I can't remember much about the first kiss with Angel, except that he vamped out. This worked really well. We all know Spike has better control over his demon than his grandsire. Hope the big reveal goes as well.

I read your response to DeepBlueJoy's review of Rewind, Reshuffle and Replay. One thing caught my eye. You said that this Spike isn't the same Spike who spent 100 years gleefully killing. So it begs the question how did he get the soul?

I know I have posted something similar on FF.net in a review there but I just wanted to say that I understand that the first couple of chapters had to be extremely similar to the show. They are just getting to know each other. And as a vamp you should be concerned if the slayer is the slay first ask questions later type. If she knew right away that Spike (or Angel for that matter) was a vamp he would have been dust before he got a word out. But the Spike we knew was a straight forward kind of guy. Even when he got his soul that really didn't change. Sure he less sure of himself but that had more to do with his love for Buffy and where he stood with her.

I only hope that Spike doesn't have a curse on his soul. There could have been another reason for him getting it. The reason that jumps to mind for me would have been his mother. After turning her and having to dust her that could have been the catalyst for getting a soul. I only comment about it because I hated what happened on the show with Angel and Buffy. To me it seemed like Joss and Co. tried to make it look like Angel and Buffy were star crossed tragic lovers doomed to be apart forever. And in reality (to me) he was a manipulative stalker who never let her grow up. He wormed his way into her heart and kept her emotionally stunted for life. Plus that would cut down on the hot monkey sex!! But seriously the Spike we all know and love wouldn't do that.
Heyo! :)

Indeed, it does beg the question as to where the soul came from, and all I can say is that explanations are forthcoming. In the next chapter(s), actually.

I obviously can't say one way or the other how Spike got his soul, and how permanent it is. Definitely don't wanna be posting spoilers to my own fic, lol.

All I can say is that the reason that things happened the way they did on the show between Angel and Buffy is that they were happening between Angel and Buffy. As I said from the outset, this story- while it places Spike in Angel's position -will not be a carbon copy of the series because Spike and Angel are different people, so when put into similar situations they are gonna react in completely different ways. I know that still doesn't give you a lot to go on, lol.... but I'll just finish off by saying that don't worry. This is a Spuffy story posted on Spuffy fanfic websites, and written by a die-hard Spuffy shipper... so things might be turbulent here or there, but...... have faith, ginar369, have faith ;D

Thank you for all of your thoughtful reviews though. It warms my heart to see someone putting so much thought and reflection into this fic :) :) :)

Never Kill a Boy on the First Date

Love Buffy's inner monologue, it's a riot. I can't remember what happened at the funeral home, but I can't see Spike resisting the challenge to prove himself. Super chappie.

Teacher's Pet

I'd forgotten how funny Xander and Willow were in the early years, before they turned all bitter and judgemental. Love the Buffy, Spike snipping. In the show Buffy just fell in love with a pretty face, this is much better.

I like the idea, but so far it's too close to how Angel acted...  the speaking is different, but the behavior isn't different enough.  Hope there will be none of the kissing and screaming and 'barely controlled demon' business that was the episode Angel...

If you're not gonna change anything, then you're not creating your own work, you're just slotting Spike into Angel's role and it borders on plagiarism as well as boredom.

Spike is a very different person from Angel.  It's not just dialogue changes, but behavioral changes and those cause PLOT changes and affect how other people act too.  In fact, only the inevitable events will remain the same...  The interpersonal should be vastly different.  Spike would have gone down into the tunnels with Buffy, even if he'd remained out of the fight at the Bronze in order to let Buffy come into her own.  He's not as cautious as Angel, and he's not one to sit on the sidelines.

Hope to see more, different, imaginative stuff...  Be adventurous! Will keep reading... for now.
Hey there,

Thank you for everything that you've said. I really appreciate your review, and hearing from someone who's not in love with the direction I've been taking it so far.

As far as the interpersonal stuff goes, I've tried to stay true to who I imagine this version of Spike to be. Although we have yet to learn this as fact in this universe, this isn't a Spike who spent over 100 years as a gleefully soulless demon, having lots of adventures and rowdy fun... so I'm imagining him to be a slightly different incarnation than what we saw on BtVS. As such, I've tried to reconcile the Spike that we all know with a Spike who had a completely different history from him, and figure out who exactly he would be, and how he'd interact with Buffy.

Honestly, I do hope that you stay with this fic. Given what you've said in your comment, I think there's gonna be some stuff that you aren't thrilled about, but I can tell you that- having already written up to halfway through School Hard -there are going to be some plot changes, and the interpersonal interactions are going to be different in the long-run. Stuff has just (in my opinion) had to remain relatively similar to what happened in the show for the first couple of 'episodes' because they are just getting to know each other and whatnot.

Again, I do sincerely appreciate and thank you for your comments. It's good to have a wake-up call as far as this is concerned, and it'll open my eyes to more critically evaluate the direction I'm taking each specific chapter/'episode'. Either way, I think if you do stick with it, this fic will
be worth your time... it just might take a little while to get there.

Thanks again :)
-CF

Great idea, CF.  Nicely snarky Spike, and that goofy teen Buffy we all love.
