That was absolutely mind blowingly amazing! I could definitely have seen that being a double episode of Buffy it was that good! One little thing though...Dawn had blue eyes not green so if you at some point could amend your text on that if you still even have an account on here as it is years later that I've found this site! 

Other than that, nothing but praise and like a good book, I couldn't stop reading until I'd finished so that's been basically my whole Bank Holiday Monday done here in the UK!

Really, truly, honestly one of the most BEATUIFUL pieces of fan fiction I have ever read.

The way this story coaxes emotion out of it's reader is truly inspired. Right at the start, when Spike is first taken by Warren, I found myself raising an eyebrow at the very idea, but by the end I was trembling with fear, just like Spike, each and every time his evil name was mentioned. Seeing Spike's character be broken down and destroyed by the evil of a normal human being is nothing compared to seeing Buffy's loving attempts to rebuild him afterward. The denial that he should deserve her love is heartbreaking, but the fact that she mends him makes this story even more beautiful.

Another notable amazing aspect of this story is the character development that takes place. Firstly, Spike, and his fall from powerful master vampire to weak and terrified slave [a particularly good and honest scene is the phonecall with Warren toward the end of the story when he doesn't even dare hang up the phone, though he knows that Warren can't hurt him] I've never seen Spike's character shown in this light before and the difference [not to mention the sympathy felt] was astonishing. Secondly, Buffy's development from self-centred Buffy to open hearted, loving Buffy. The raw emotion you portrayed through her character when she was trying to clean Spike up after his rescue was incredible to read. Memorable. Thirdly, Xander's development from the usual numb-skull he's written as, to the incredibly warm and understanding man he always should have been. I love that he was able to reconcile with Anya after finally becomming a man. And finally, the development from Dawn the girl, to Dawn the woman. The fierce protection she showed over her best friend was amazing, and made the developments in her character all the more believable.

It's not often that a piece of fan fiction can so beautifully tie together terrifyingly dark angst and beautifully soft fluff. In my opinion, this story breaks all the usual boundaries and shows a whole new side to ALL of the characters involved.

Beautiful. Incredibly well written. And memorable. One of the best fics I have ever read, if not the very best.

I really love reading your work and because I do think it is so good - I just want to say that one thing that I do think detracts from it's impact. Your use of "baby" endearment seems like it does not go with your Buffy character or with the line. I just love you stories and how you write your characters, I just wonder if you might consider if your use of this endearment is really needed.

This is a very emotion filled and deeply dramatic story. You are writing it very well. Hopefully the torture parts are over now, and I will be able to read every chapter instead of skimming.

You know, *maybe overshare, feel free to delete or overlook* having been in the shoes that Spike is wearing now, you have captured the abused role excellently. that obscene repeating mental loop that tells you it is your fault and you did this to yourself...this was hard for me to read when the abusive parts first started, but i must tell you, you have done this delicately and with grace, and i appreciate it...this was the only time that i started to give up on buffy, and perhaps why i like to rewrite season 6 as much as i do, and you have done an excellent job of changing her attitude and foibles into something workable as a plot device...truly something i didn't think could be done. I'm so happy that Spike is free from Warren. Is he really? How will he ever heal all the way? Does Warren still have the technological means to hurt Spike from a distance? Will Buffy get over herself. Can somebody torture Xander?

Yes! Spike strikes back! So glad he was able to figure out something he could do to help; nothing like threatening one of his ladies to get the creative juices flowing. Nice to see Warren at someone else's mercy, instead of viceversa. Poor Spike! He's still alone, trapped, weakened, and now Warren's getting his (hopefully) last revenge. Curse Warren. Can't wait to hear what happens next. Hope Buffy shows him who's boss and knocks him down a peg.

Great start! I was always a little disappointed that Joss gave Warren the schematics to Spike's chip and didn't go anywhere with it. Interesting choice to interrupt Spike's "soul searching" - irifkos ended up giving him a soul in the end anyway. I was alway ambivelent about Spike getting his soul. I kind of thought that the whole point was that he didn't need one. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Spike further out of character than in "Seeing Red".

I just started this fic today and finished just now. It was great. I don't usually read alot of angst because the show had alot of that already, but this store pulled me in.

I waited until this one was complete before reading it. Late, late night. Once started, I just had to finish. Great writing, you do the emotion so well. Looking forward to your next one.

I found this story this morning, and just couldn't stop reading until I was done! I just wanted to say (I am sure it has been said to you before), I think that you wrote about the aftermath of the AR very well. Both blaming themselves. Most authors wouls prefer to skip right to the forgiving, but you wrote about working UP TO the forgiving, which is more realistic. I love Dawn in this story, and I have to say, I am mixed about Xander. He pisses me off most of the time, and I can see him doing what he did to Spike with the controller. BUT, at the same time, after Anya showed him what Spike went through, I really did feel sorry for how naieve (SP?) he had been. I can't wait for the next update! Keep up the great work!

This is a fabulous story! Well written, and even though I usually prefer less angst, it is really progressing well and the frequent updates are most welcome! Please keep it coming, I can't wait to see what happens next. I wish there was a "super liked it" opinion choice!

Didn't say I didn't like your story, I see your point in him being vulnerable and all. The problem is that I don't really see a belivable happy end to this story. Since he's so totally broken no matter how much revenge he exacts I can't see him being anything but a broken shell of a person after this, someone who would probably beg the slayer just to kill him to put him out of his misery. I don't mind sad endings, if done properly I think they can be just as beautiful as happy in a way.

Please let warren die a slow and painful death. Great story
