Terrific reading this again - liked your treatment for all the characters with, I have to admit, Dawn at the ending chapters - she comes across as very self centered and too disconnected from the pain and destruction that has happened to Willow.  

Great reading this story again - wish there had been a sequel - but I guess that would have required a SAGA to create a Willow Vengeance War -

Wonderful story - love how you used all the characters and how you recreated the Buffy resurrection in the complete opposite of what the series did with her and all the other characters.

Was great reading your wonderful story again - an interesting exploration of the dynamics between Buffy and Willow and Willow's darkside.  Can't help but feel a great deal of sympathy for Willow, even if she was responsible for bringing such tragedy to herself - in one way I was glad that she at least had the Vengeance Demon Powers that she turned to.  It's crazy, because she will now bring only misery to the lives of others when once she could have been such a great source for good - but still, I felt a great deal of sorrow for her fall from grace into the extreme darkness that life can become.

I really like this story and how you use the song for the foundation and contrast to Willow and Buffy life paths and choices.  There is probably not a sequel to this, but it would make an awesome story.

Not sure how I feel about the last part of the story with the treatment of Anya and Dawn being so easy to cast Willow aside - I kept thinking that I would have like a little more sympathy from them for Willow.  After all Angel is right to point out that they all had a long history with Willow.  But, your point is made - Choices and Lessons and how a person will respond.  

Read this one a rather long time ago, good to read it again. 

terrific story - little harsh on the Willow character hatred transformation - but it works with your ending for her.  Don't know if there is a sequel to this - but I hope you continued your story. 

Nice story. It did leave me wondering what Willow would do, which left me deeling tense and makes the story feel sort of unfinished.

great story. i really love angel in the role of dutiful sire. to me, him giving his blessings upon buffy and spike is more loving than any other action he could take. him being a master of master vampires, his aquiesence gives weight to the legitimacy of spike and buffy as destined for one another. i love when he is portrayed in that light within the realm of fanfic.

the thought of dawn, tara, buffy and spike traveling the world together with their new found roles is also inspiring. what adventures they'll have!

Excellent ending to this story. You left it open perfectly for a sequel if you ever choose to do one. This was an enjoyable story, even with some of the unconventional parts in it. You had sme very unique ideas in regards to Dawn, and I liked that.

Wow. This story has easily become one of my favorites. I loved it. The beginning concept was great, and it all just kept getting better. I like how you really bonded Anya and Tara in; it always seemed they were being ignored as attachments rather than the core which didn't seem right. I also like how you took Willow and took her down this path that is very believable for her to have gone down to become Wilheminda. I greatly enjoyed the Tara/Dawn pairing as well. I'm pretty sure it was the first time I've seen it, but I liked it. The whole plot and everything was very well done. In general, I just loved this story!

It bothered me when I read the review from the person who "found something they didn't like so they are done reading." Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but would they read a book almost the entire way through and then stop a few chapters from the end because they found something they didn't like? Oh well...I don't feel that Spike was being submissive in any way, just felt like he was contacting him because Dru ignored him. I think that it was well done.

So many things happening all at once. Spike reliving his past thinking of his future. Asking for Angel's advise. Willow needing to get back her power, at any price. Fantastic chapter.

I see darkness on the horizon again for Willow. She just doesn't learn. {Sighs} I disagree with another reviewer on Spike and Angel. The network didn't like the idea of a Male/Male type relationship that might be implied for Spike and Angel. Hence the changes later. In any case, I didn't see Spike really as being submissive to Angel in this chapter at all. It was an excellent ritual from Childe to Sire. Even if Angel wasn't his direct Sire, Dru turned away from him when he searched out for her. So, he sought the next one up. Angel is still in the heirarchy of the Aurelian house. Spike sought the advice of someone that through the ritual words gave him a chance to ask without Angel being as pompus. It broke at Angel to to have to tell Spike what he needed to know, but it helped Spike a little bit more to know that Angel would not stop them. I don't think someone should give up on a story because of one chapter anyways. Though I have stopped reading some chapters at times for other stories because they got too dark, and I needed a break, I usually came back when I could handle the darkness. If everyone that didn't like one thing about a story stopped reading it, it would be a sad world. Don't lose hope. This is a great story, and I look forward to your continuation of it. The whole Guardian and Steward aspects are unique, and I love it.

Ohnoooooo nooo Dedra, 28 chapters and i find something i didn't like. One thing i can never stand is Spike being submissive to angel. When he says in canon of angelus being his sire, he is talking about how he taught him to be a monster. Something i don't think he would fondly remember on. Also asking for advice? Angel is the last person he should ask advice from, i will always see him as a digusting pedophile for sleeping with Buffy. He saw a bright young girl and damaged her(mentally) in ways that would forever haunt her(in canon). She might have been a slayer but she wasn't mature for her age. end rant... It only just occured to me that in the series the trio never got punished for anything they did. Warren got killed for an accident, Jonathan for nothing, and Andrew got a pat on the back. Unlike most fics, you didn't absolve them of guilt. Way to go!

Buffy opening the door and disinviting Angel? From Dawn's accidental invitation of Harmony on the show, it's obvious that you can't disinvite a vamp simply by saying something. Having to open and keep hold of the door might be the smallest possible requirement of a full ritual. Which makes me wonder whether it's you that's so clever or whether it's your subconscious that's so clever ....

Pet I really like how you are exploring the aspect of the key. I always thought that Dawn should have a more central 'use' for lack of a better word. the key opened portals to other deminsions, but after Buffy's death/resurrection Joss just kind of made her normal. She could have played a larger role.

So SAD about Anya and how she feels like such an outsider and that she was only tolerated because of her Xander connection.  I'm glad that she broke it off with him - never cared much for their relationship and always felt she was a lost opportunity as a character.  Anya could have been so much more interesting instead of this forced character to serve as girl friend/wacky neighbor.

Poor Anya - she really did, IMO, fit in with the Scoobs and she sure as hell was wasted as Xander's girl friend.  

Anya tolerated - that's a very good, IMO, opinion description of the character in the series - I think you have it just right regarding her.  

Finally! someone remembered about poor Anya. Loving your 2.0 of S6.

F*** Xander and Willow, they are both incredibly selfish and wrapped up in their own little world. They both seem to think that Buffy should be the good little girl and listen to their opinions and take them to heart. I love that you took Buffy from being the empty hollow b**** that she was in the series to what she is here. It sits much better. Loving it and can barely pull myself away from the computer...

So glad to see Buffy stickin' to her guns. Kinda wished that Xander would get himself into a situation where he needed Spike's help and said Spike told him "remember I'm evil," and walk away. I know, now I'm being evil. Just love these characters!

Fantastic! The rage and power thrumming through this chapter are awesome, and for once, it appears as though none of them has scales over their eyes. Alternative, original, and thoroughly gripping. Who cares if it's not Monday? :)

Hi! Love your story :) You've made a small mistake in this chappie, though.. An Athame is not for physical things... Especially not slitting someone's throat. If you would want a knife to use for things in the physical world, you would use a Bolline. And seeing as Willow probably isn't a Wiccan like Tara is, she would use an ordinary knife.. That's a really novel take on it. That Buffy had to cooperate to get out of heaven. I like that. I mean, Willow isn't a god after all. I also like the "if Buffy wanted to, she would have come back from hell on her own" argument. That's a fair amount of original ideas so far.

You shouldn't have admitted to not knowing french. It would have been more interesting to claim that it was Middle French or a French-based Creole. The first one seemed to have the right cadence for it anyways, making the spell sound like it was Voodoun. :)

Awesome sweetie! Very well written. I LOVE how you descried Tara's perspective of Willow's magical addiction. It was very believable. I don't feel bad for Willow at all... her magic use in Season 6 was beyond addiction and she really abused her power. This fic reminds me of that and I really don't like Willow already! So kudos to your writing.

The "Tara can do nothing" stance lacks credibility. Tara COULD burn every last one of Willow's spell books, ingredients, notes and her laptop's harddrive. This would set Willow back for a very long time. And as someone who's repeatedly lost their computer's contents, I know just how impossible it is to reconstruct a library from scratch. This is why most authors either make Tara a doormat without independent will, ignorant of what's happening, tone down Willow' Evil Quotient, or cut Tara out of the loop entirely. You've chosen none of those approaches and that makes me very curious how it will work out.

I love the low key quality of your start -
