I love that Buffy allowed herself to really see how good they were together in a small moment like this. 

Coward thy name is Buffy. Of course she'll wait until the world is falling down around them. Because then there is a chance that one of them will die and she won't have to back it up with anything. She really needed to be a bit more like Faith, want, take, have. Okay yeah she is the chosen one so others do need to come first. But seriously that never meant she wasn't allowed any happiness. She just didn't want to take it. Afraid of what her friends would say. Well guess what, they don't get to have a say if you don't let them.

Yes I think she was in love with him and just waiting till the FE stuff was over and done with to tell him (or so she convinced herself). Love this scene...tender and sweet and moving. Orion's story was the PERFECT choice. Lovely and even fits with canon without any wanking.

That was absolutely beautiful and tender. The underlying tension of their past pain was present, but you brought it to a sweet conclusion.
