What a heart ache - great study of Buffy in this period of her life -

Thank you.

Interesting take on Spike and Buffy's fight in the abandoned house and also interesting that Buffy uses Angel to goad Spike.
Thanks.
Wow, I haven't gotten a review on this one in a long time, lol.

This is heartbreakingly wonderful. So painfully real it could take your breath away. Excellent writing.
Thank you very much. This was one of those moments that just poured out without me really having to think about it. Wish they all went that easily!

a more truefuly done story , good job
Thanks. I tend to go for realism in relationships, and Spike definitely should have had more backbone that season...and of course, Buffy was far from healthy.

Ouch. Bitter, but I always wanted Spike to have a few more stones in Season 6. And I wanted Giles to realize that Buffy DID need him. Well done!
Thanks. Those are wishes of mine, as well. It was true that she didn't need the handholding of a Watcher anymore, but she still very much need a parent figure, and Giles might as well have been her dad. He didn't seem to understand that. Thankfully, that's what fanfic's for!

Makes me want to know what happens next. Very well done! Any chance for a sequel?
Thanks! Maybe...after I finish a WIP, or two..
We'll have to see what the muse says.

Ok, I'm thinking sequel. The pain of this story--it was so real. And so short, I think that's where the impact hits. I want to see what happens next.
Okay, now you guys are making me blush...you want more? Gosh...well, I'll think on it...I really should finish my other WIPs, though.

This really was a different direction. I could really feel Spike, his horror and pain at what Buffy tried to force him into doing. I like how he took care of her, calling Giles and keeping an eye out until he arrived. I could completely understand why he left and loved that he didn’t just disappear but that he made sure to say goodbye to Dawn. Thanks for posting this I enjoyed reading it.
Thanks. I'm glad it's coming across as I meant it to. You guys are giving me some great feedback, here.

awwwwwwwww that's so terribly sad, but wonderfully written.
Thank you very much...I've been wanting to improve writing the emotional stuff, and I'm so glad you guys are responding to this so well. :)

God - poor Spike. That would be such a hard thing for him to get over. Well done.
Yeah, I thought it would be..maybe even harder than watching her die had been. I knew it had to be something drastic for him to want to a) set himself away from the situation for a while, and b) call Giles. That phone call wasn't easy for him, knowing how Giles thinks of him. Spike's mind is so vivid, that I felt being around Buffy still after that would only remind him of that encounter over and over again, and it would probably drive him mad.

wow...such a stark, real piece of writing here, very well done...spike's and giles' reactions were both flawlessly portrayed...very sad, yet leaves the reader with a sense of hope....excellent job :)
I'm humbled...thank you. To get this kind of reaction from what is essentially a first draft just floors me...I guess I was in the right frame at the right time. And yeah...I'm not one for completely depressing scenes, so there's always going to be a ray of hope for the future. :)

Wow, that's a new take on it. Nicely done.
I'd been thinking about what Buffy could do that might get Spike to say no to the insanity, and this is what came of it. She hated being here so much, that I feel that suicidal thoughts were probably in her mind constantly for at least that first half of the season.

Ah - lovely, angsty and could so easily have happened.
Thanks. It really just came to me today as I had nothing to do, and wrote pretty easily - which I really needed right now!
