Very nice interim!  And thanks for choosing St Paul over Minneapolis for Dawn...much more family friendly.
You're welcome. :) Thanks.

I had to jog my memory of what I wrote, lol. It's been a long time.

This was such a sad but real look at what would have gone on after Buffy’s death. I loved how sweet Tara was to go check up on Giles and how she looked out for Spike and Dawn, realizing how much they needed each other. The friendship and love between Spike and Dawn was wonderfully shown and I loved how they, with her Aunt Arlene, formed their own family. Thanks for the lovely read.
I always loved the potential of Spike and Dawn's brother/sister relationship, so I'm glad that came across well here. And Tara's so naturally maternal that I have a hard time thinking she wouldn't try her best to help if she was able. She lost her mom before, so she knows how this goes.

Thanks for reading.

That's soooooo sad. You are evil. And the bit about Giles checking out funeral homes when he got to town ... that's just plain cold.

As awful as that is, I figured it would probably be a standard thing for a Watcher when he gets his Slayer - that detached bit of business for the inevitable conclusion they know will come. He didn't have any attachment to Buffy before she arrived in Sunnydale, so it just would have been another measure he was supposed to take...of course, once he loved her, he of course never wanted to use it. And a Slayer's death has to be explained away without a ruckus from the authorities...he had to know who would be discreet.

yes, you *are* evil..and also an excellent writer!! that piece was just about flawless, love...very well done, and left me really wanting more...please write a sequel??? please?? :)
I'm trying. I feel like these short pieces have me on the verge of the next level in my writing. As for a sequel, if I get to it, it's going to have to wait until my other three WIPs are finished or nearly so.

LOL...you mean 'the end' of part one, right? *looks hopeful*
Hee hee hee...everybody's a broken record today. ;) What's the saying? "Always leave 'em wanting more"?

Yes, you are. You're very evil.

Now on to the sequel!Uh, where's the sequel again?!There isn't one?! *whimper*
Nope, there isn't. *evil grin* You could assume that Buffy came back to life, everyone's freaked, somebody called Dawn and Spike, and poor Faith is just trying to do her job...oh! or because Dawn isn't there, Buffy completed her reenactment on the tower...but I haven't written that, so...*cackles*
