Great Job Caro - excellent work - I only wish that you had made this into a longer story.  Not many stories that deal with Buffy's depression and what she could have done differently to deal with her misery from being resurrected.

Thank you. These were always meant as a series of short stories.

Thanks. :-)

Buffy was in an impossible situation in S6. Maybe Giles did believe that him leaving would be the making of her but expecting her to cope with a flakey Willow on top of everything else was just plain nuts. I like this much better!
I do, too! Willow's issues were not something Buffy needed at that time.

I really liked this version of events; Giles reassuring Buffy of his love for her, realizing the mistake he made in leaving her, and letting her really talk and tell him what was going on with her. I also like how he was there to help Buffy deal with Willow and that they had her move out of the house. Thanks so much for another piece in this series.
You're welcome. Those changes would have boded well for the rest of the season, huh...

just the small changes you described at the end could make all the difference in the world for the rest of the chapter...love this little piece, i do :) so glad giles came back for her, and the idea of spike calling him to get him to come back is just too sweet...love it :)
Yep, it's my imperative to fix things where needed, and Willow should never have lived there rent free. That pissed me off.

And she needed the "old git", at least for some basic instructions. Giles had basically dropped her in the ocean without being able to swim. Buffy had never had a job, paid bills, or any other adult responsibilities...and suddenly she's a parent. The smart thing would have been to sell the house and get an apartment for her and Dawn, but oh, well....

Thanks.

Oh, that was a lovely and logical conclusion; although, I wouldn't be disappointed if there was a sequel at some point in which Spike begins to slip back into the picture....
This is just another part of the series. I'm finding it easier to do these "vignettes", than chapter stories right now, so there will be continuations. Spike still has to complete his quest from FtA. And then go home.

Thanks for reviewing!
