Uh, so five years Post-NFA, Buffy's turned into Faith now? Maybe I'm misreading but Buffy's characterization does seem edgier than I'm used to with her. Your Spike and Buffy both seem on the bitter side, hard to imagine these two rekindling anything, especially after all this time apart. Makes for good drama. Can't wait for more. :)

okay, let me be sure i'm understanding the backstory here...gunn put angel investigations back together after nfa...but i dont get what connor was talking about, about spike abandoning his family... this story has me absolutely fascinated, looking forward to more :)

Good start - thank you for not having Spike be all mopey and pining after Buffy. That's the problem with most post-Chosen fics - Buffy can move on and screw playboys but apparently it's a downright sin if Spike doesn't remain celebate and forever pining for her, even if she herself is in a relationship. Hell, there's a couple where she's been married and has kids and she expects Spike to just jump on the opporunity to have the priviledge of being with her again and despite any realism that's just what he does. I guess it's related to how horrible Spike and Anya were when they "cheated" on Buffy and Xander, despite the fact that both relationships were clearly over since Buffy repeatedly said that quite explicitly and Xander left Anya at the altar (if that isn't a break up I don't know what is).
