Great build-up -- this is going to be some showdown!

I love how Spike reawakens the Slayer in her. Buffy almost seems like a different person in this chapter. Oh, and did I mention before that I love the red hair? I don't know why, but I like the idea of a Buffy with red hair. Maybe because the blonde seems so much a part of the cheerleader, "horror movie victim turned on its head" persona that it doesn't fit this hardened, desperate version of Buffy.

SO they didn't find each other, so wonder what will happen now.

That was incredibly powerful. Her girding for the battle with him, him wound up with fire and energy. All so beautifully written and massively evocative.
Loved it.

Smart little slayer, but who will be staking whom by the time their dance is done? This is so odd, knowing that none of the scoobies will be there. I can see Xander as a paying customer, though. Poor Spike, she will have him on sensory overload. Hope you update this again soon. Very interested in seeing how this all plays out.

Oh, yay! I love this story, so glad you're posting it here. You have such a wonderful sense of description - "a shard of moonlight laid out beneath him." And I love the idea of Slayers as a girl you can kill over and over, as though the individual identities don't matter, and it might as well be the same girl.
