Spike shouldn't of said sorry, everything that happened is Buffy's fault. But good OneShot...I know I hate on Buffy alot but I do like Spike/Buffy pairing...I just think Buffy needs to get pain instead of Spike getting all the pain.
I understand what you mean. I've read a few fics that do what you're talking about. I just wanted to give them a clean break.

NICE - this was one of the saddest moments of the entire series - and one of, IMVHO, Buffy's worst moments ever - I really felt so totally disappointed with where the writers took this. Of course I understand the great drama and emotional impact that was the object for the writers but still it was the most bitter fantasy episodes ever - Riley & Sam as The Perfect Happy Couple vs Buffy and her hated Vampire.

Yeah, As You Were is on my list of worst episodes. I hated how Buffy instantly believed the guy who lied to her, and cheated on her. Lord knows I wouldn't be that excited to see a guy who treated me the way Riley treated her.
I think that's why most of us rewrite it. We want to "fix" the mess the writers gave us. :P

A part of me wishes it had gone down this way. It would have saved them a lot of trouble. But then we wouldn't have had Spike anymore so...touch choice.

Awww, this was sad, but really good. That episode always breaks my heart a little. Stupid Riley & Buffy.
