Wonderful story - love your treatment of the Spike ghost theme, nice variation on the series season beginning and ending. Your Spike in this setting is so appealing and wiser and mature Buffy is also another nice change for the character. Buffy's "glamour shoes" makes an excellent light comedic element.

Wow, a lot of information and feeling packed into this chapter - anger, lust, love, irritation... Things are bound to become more complicated now that Wolfram and Hart are involved...

Has he tried to leave the property at night time, or is he just going by what he was told? Knowing the regular Spike, he'd be testing those boundaries actively when he got there. He tried leaving LA at every angle when he was tethered to the amulet.
