One word....'Wonderful'

Whew - I was starting to worry about Spike there for a minute.  He's just being too damn noble.
Well, he's also had a lot of time to think. Three hundred years, as he said, can put a lot into perspective, especially when he's been chatting with himself through most of it. But he's still Spike, and that part can't go away. I just don't think it's fair to think he can't mature, especially when the end of Season 5 was the real kick-off of his character growth. It makes sense to me that, given everything he's gone through up until now, he'd have a better understanding of himself and his relationship with Buffy.

I think it's a whole baked loaf but they both do need to know for certain that it is born of more than just gratitude.  They both deserve it to be more.

This time there is a multi-strand bond that they are forging and it will stand up to anything thrown at them.  (They need to heed the warning about no promises though!).

I'd love for Buffy and all her crew to find out what he went through in time, but NOT from him.  I don't think it will matter to Buffy because she is already imagining a close approximation but I do think it should be known in time.

Love the foundation they are laying.  They have had centuries to mature so their behavior SHOULD be mature.

You are just excelling with this story hon.  Congratulations on the noms and awards cause ALL your stories are head and shoulders above most but THIS, this is the best so far.

Awwwww (Sorry, couldn't resist. :))
Nicely done. Covers much of what needed to be covered and a good job of letting Spike soften his guard as Buffy's words begin to get through to him.  Not too abrupt, not dragged out too long. :)

Lovely!  I'm so glad that they can finally talk and I find it very interesting that their reality bends to her desire.  I wonder if that will mean something for their escape.  You always do such a wonderful job in creating these pockets of quiet, where they can explore their feelings.  Another really wonderful story.  Thanks!

I love what you've done with Buffy, she's so open minded and accepting.  A crumb for Spike indeed.  Fabulous chapter.
