So Guardians get something akin to the "Jedi Mind Trick" or a vampire's thrall? Nice. I hope Buffy's ability to do that doesn't prevent lots of snarky banter between our favorite blonde duo.
They eventually all have the same powers, but the first that manifests can be different, and Buffy pulled a Jedi Mind Trick. ;)
And no, it won't get in the way of snark. Heaven forbid! It wasn't conscious for her, just her power manifesting in a stressful situation. I don't plan on making her too powerful. Couldn't have Spike snap her neck or bite her, though. :D

He was suddenly before her. “Option three, I snap your pretty neck and take your body back to Dru.”
She stared up into his eyes. “You won’t do that.”
“I…” His brows furrowed in the middle. “I won’t do that.”

Go Buffy with the Jedi mind trick! I really loved this story a while ago, and I'm very excited that you are updating it. I always wanted to know what reason Spike would give about not taking Nikki's blood. I wonder what he'll do when he finds out Buffy is just as weak as a human girl now? Your characterization is really great, and you're being fair to Angel without being too sappy. It's very realistic that he would distance himself from Buffy is she wasn't the Slayer, so much for his great 'love' for her.
