Dis you have to bring up C. S. Lewis, then? That's exactly it! BtVS is like a post-modernist version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The symbols obviously stand for different attributes. Certainly wouldn't say Red is the embodiment of Evil : D

LOL - it's great that you see the connection I was going for there. That's one of the great things about the show, there were just so many more layers than the average TV series.

Buffy is still just as repressed as ever, isn't she? Still bottling everything up. Spike should be able to crack the shell though... So you're not going with the comic canon that it was a 'stand-in' Buffy in Rome rather than the real thing? Until I learned that, I found it hard to credit she was with the Immortal so soon after losing Spike, but I decided it was an act of loss and desperation rather than of 'moving on' as Andrew tried to make them believe. Can't wait for more.....

Yeap...just as repressed as ever! One of these days I'm going to sit down and really explore
in a fic, all that repression. With this story I did my own play on the Immortal thing and it's more
along those loss and desperation lines. I have another fic where I stick to the comic cannon.

Wonderful work! I'm addicted to every word! So much in fact, I find your finished work on fanfiction and read it all in one day! I love the beginning scene, I like how you write Spike being adorable and not just sexy and debonair like most writers just stick to. Wonderful work!

Thank you so much! I love writing Spike because of all those layers, my favorite moments are
when he's being adorable, because I guess I love that juxtaposition of sweet and bitter! :0) I
always thought his debonair side was more of an act anyway. Probably why I enjoy fanfic so much
we can play around!

Heh :) Spike is in love with an Ipod. Given time I think you would get 600 songs together.
And Spike got her to fight him, to fight back. After a year of non fighting it's a step in the right direction.
So that was Spike's side of the story why he stayed away. Must have hurt Buffy that she caused parts of it (was part of the reason). Looking forward to her side of the story.

LOL - I just love the image of him with the earbuds slung over his shoulders, hee..and I have no
doubt that he'd be able to pull those songs together, but man, he won't have time - big bad coming!
