Chapter: Chapter 2

Okay, half my brain says, "This is a terrible situation. Spike's supposed to love Buffy always. Ack!" And the other half is saying, "She's got it coming and it's for her own good." Very confusing. Still totally intriguing.

Season 2/3 Spike isn't in love with her, so would hit back when pushed.  Or is that really true?  *g*  I'm a rabid Spuffy girl, so you know how things will end up.  Thank you for enjoying it!

Great chapter - poor Spike is slipping already though.  Excellent scene with Buffy.
He never can hold out against her. :)  I'm so glad you like it!

Good job! I like this Spike. No matter how 'evil' he is, he's still nicer than Buffy was at this point.
That's what I thought!  That Buffy treated him way more badly.  But some people got upset.  I'm so glad you're liking it!

Great to see Spike with his rocks back!
That's why I wrote the story - to have fun with that.  :)  Thank you for liking it!

“But you always help!”

“And never got thanked for it. It’s finally occurred to me that being a nice guy doesn’t work with you lot.”

I like the possibility that the "old" Spike might get through to them all in a very necessary way. He seems willing to give it a try, but on his own terms. You've made me believe that he still wants to be a part of the team, but not at the expense of his dignity.

Great, action-packed chapter.
He's got his own agenda. :D  I'm so glad you're liking it!  Thank you!

Very fun twist on the original.  I like the way you show the effect of his gradual change by the contrast in thoughts.  Looking forward to more!.  Thanks!
Oh, thank you!  That's exactly what I'm trying to learn.  I'm so glad you think it's effective!

Very hot.  Good old fashioned bad boy sex appeal.
I'm so glad you like it!  Thank you!  Bad boy Spike is so much fun!

I am loving this. Evil Spike taking his rocks back is amazing! Take THAT Buffy! She deserves anything he dishes out in my opinion, and I don't feel the least bit sorry for her (her inner monologue cut any pity I felt right out).
I'm glad what you did with Dawn. I was real worried that you'd have Spike treat her as horribly as the others (as much as Dawn annoys me, I feel so bad for her in this season). I like that you have him not caring, but accepting she was nice and helping her out.
I can't wait to see how Spike deals with the other  Scoobies (Xander especially).
Spike didn't hurt Joyce because she was good to him.  I didn't think he'd hurt Dawn either, remembering that she had cared for him.  Buffy's monologue - that was the way she was feeling in canon at that point, so I didn't mess with it.  A little Xander bashing will be coming up. :D  I'm so glad you're liking this!  Thank you!

Liked that bit of rationalization Spike was used when he was with Dawn, linked neatly with the explanation of how remembering things from his future self didn't make him connect to the feelings. Can't wait to see how the others react to Spike not accepting their treatment, and when Buffy stops being so deep in denial and self-absorption that she notices Spike said he doesn't love her now. I guess the physical encounter right afterwards distracted her, but it seemed important to me!

Still, I wonder what Spike is planning. Don't let them kick him around, but sleep with the slayer? Being abrasive to her friends and mean to the girl he's screwing doesn't seem like much of a plan, but if that's how it works out, I hope they figure out what's happening before he emotionally hurts Dawn or even Buffy too much.
Spike's working things out right now, but his plan will become apparent as the story goes on.   Spike's saying he doesn't love her is important and Buffy will notice.  Thank you for liking it so far!

Oh, I love this so much; I love the way Spike has Buffy twisting at the end of his rope.  Nice for Spike to get a little of his own back; good for him!!
I was so mad at the way he was treated in S6 that I wanted him to get a little of his own back. :D  I'm so glad you're liking it!  Thank you!
