well, i gotta say you must have a fantastical beta. she's really awesome.
as for the story...............it was most definitely one of the best opening chapters ever created. and i loved the way you portrayed both spike and buffy. i can absolutely see spike deciding to make a drunken phone call.

Love that Lady Antebellum song!  Good start.  This is definitely a plausible scenario for Buffy post-"Chosen."  In some ways, she has burdened herself even more, hasn't she?  I like where this is going.
