Tell Her This by Eowyn315
Chapter: Chapter 1

Yeah! Go, Spike!  In my opinion, Buffy deserved that.  After all, she'd been sitting there waiting knowing that Spike would show up.  Buffy should have had some sort of control.  Spike was blindsided.
Thanks! I tend to think Spike way overreacted, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I am always so delighted to see a new story by you.  You just have a magic flair for writing Spike stories.  I love how you wrote the interaction between him and Angel.  And yes, I wouldn't be surprised if Buffy blew it just like you envisioned.

BTW  I'm glad you are ignoring the comics version.  I ignore them as much as possible myself!
Aww, thank you! I don't write much anymore, but I'm glad to see you're still enjoying my fic!

Neat. :-)

I really like how they didn't just run and fall into each other's arms as most spuffy fics tend to do. There is a lot of angst between them and it would take more than one confrontation before they can get things right! Great stuff!
Oh, totally agreed. They've got a lot of issues to work out before they can fall into each other's arms. :) I'm glad you like it!

I cannot wait to read more!

The whole point was that Buffy existed somewhere out there, someplace he’d never go, like the beach on a sunny day or a Barbra Streisand concert.

Haha... had a total image of Spike at a Barbra Streisand show. Also, love the way he picks Angel's desk as the best place for a chaos demon-slimed duster. Good stuff.

Hee! Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Finally!

Go, Spike! I'm so glad you're not letting him take all the blame anymore, and actually throwing Buffy's expectations of how he should let her feel superior and gracing him with her presence back in her face. Maybe she doesn't deserve to be hurt cruelly, but she hasn't treated him at all well and there is a way to be too forgiving.

You can't love someone you don't respect. Now, Spike doesn't rely on her and her friends and her town for everything, but can stand on his feet as an equal and make his own decisions, and believe in himself and his soul that they're right without her telling him he's wrong or wrongly motivated.

Great start, and I loved how you captured Spike and Angel before they reached Angel's office. Had me grinning the whole time.
I have to admit, that's not how I see Buffy at all. She's obviously upset, but for good reason, and while she certainly shouldn't have punched him, I don't see her feeling superior at all. If anything, I think Spike is the one being overly defensive.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Spike and Angel exchange. The two of them sniping at each other is one of my favorite things to write!

THANK YOU for writing this!

I've been reading a bunch of reninion fics since the last comic came out, and all but a few of them have Buffy coming, yelling, Spike apologizing, etc...and as good as they are, they make me want to hit something. Why should Spike have to apologize for doing something for himself for a change? Why should Buffy be angry that he decided that, for once, it wouldn't be all about her?

And then I reaad this, and it made my day. I mean, I still want them to work out and get a happy ending (years of Disney have made me love those happy endings), but I like Spike getting his balls back (and Buffy brought down a peg, but that's a whole nother story).

I especailly like the expression 'looking at him with he face of a child who'd just been bitten by her own pet dog'. It suits them well- Buffy allowed to do as she wishes, but Spike supposed to play by the rules and take it (she gives the same look to Angel in ATS when he hits her when she's going after Faith). Apparently either of them striking back is unthinkable to her. I think that pretty much sums up her world view, that line.

Anyway, cannot wait for more!
I think Buffy has some right to be upset. Even if he wasn't in love with her anymore or didn't want to pursue a relationship, they still had an intense, close friendship at the end of S7. Considering how important Spike was to her, I think she's right to be hurt that he never told her. He certainly doesn't owe her more than that, though, so it's rather complicated for him to navigate around an "I love you" that he doesn't believe. It's easier for him to avoid the issue altogether. Which I think is more cowardice than having balls, but YMMV. :)

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.
