i love reading less doom and gloom stories like this one when buffy is all with the puns and witty-ness if only everyone spoke like her. hehe, sweet beginning.. more please :)
This is my second try at writing comedy story that is more heart-lighted than angsty so I'm aiming for it to be even better than the frst one (Denial) was. Happy I piqued your interest and that you decided to give it a chance. Ooh, if everyone spoke like Buffy... that would be madness of the best kind, I'm telling you. Hah! Great opening. Big time UST and Spike's not even really aware of it. I think this one is going to be a lot of fun.
You bet your pert little ass it's going to be a lot of fun! Sometimes the UST might make you a bit frustrated, but no worries, Buffy and Spike will be more frustrated than you are so it's all good. ;) More banter coming right up. Thank you for the delicious review!!! :D

Too funny to describe. While reading this I sat with a permanent smile (read: creepy grin) on my face, and occasionally chuckling to myself (since I'm all alone at the moment), if somebody saw me they'd be mighty curious as to what I'm looking at. Anyway, loved this. Especially drunken Spike, so my favorite version of him (as if I don't like all sides to Spike, really, what am I saying, well you get my point) and also the tub of chocolate ice-cream he seems to want so badly.
And oh, sweet naive Buffy. *sigh* If only she had a normal brain that would see the total hotness that is Spike in all his black punk-y glory, and therefor jump his bones immediately like any sane woman would. Buffy the Denial Girl. (Ah, to have my very own Spike, *sighs dreamily while eyes glazes over*)

*giggles* Just FYI, I LOVE creepy grins! And if you could see me, you'd know I'm wearing one right now. And I love making people chuckle to themselves! Hee... glad you appreciate drunk!Spike's fashion choices. ;) They're quite diverse. Buffy from earlier season was certianly less doom-and-gloomy, which is why I prefer reading such stories as well as writing them. Funniness will ensue, and yes, I am aware I just made up that word. *g* Thank you for the delightful review!!! :D

Intriguing beginning! The characterisations are true to their personalities and you've built a solid opening scene that has a great deal of promise.
I adored the part with Spike passing out on Buffy and her reaction, including her realisation that she had never done the de-invite for Spike (which, really, is a hint right there that she must have trusted him on some level, and she still doesn't do it after Lovers Walk in S3!!!!).
Also, I always find it interesting that considering how dangerous Spike is, somehow Buffy never takes advantage of his moments of weakness to just stake him. Watching the show there are so many times when she could have just dusted him but for some reason chose not to do it. I loved your scene depicting just such a moment and Buffy's rather naughty thoughts whilst she's helping him. Plus, her discovering that Spike is a cuddler was just beautiful!!
I look forward to the next chapter with great anticipation.

Wooo... and don't judge me for wooing, you review just made me very excited. ;) You telling me it was in character makes me very mushy because I try to get their characters just right. Sometimes, their voices bounce around in my head, which might be a cause for concern. ;)

Buffy isn't stupid or careless, but for some reason she'd always trusted Spike on some subconscious level. Otherwise she would have desinvited him. He's killed slayers before, for God's sake.

Spike was drunk in Lovers Walk, but Buffy never tried to really stake him. She only threatened to. I think she enjoyed way too much slapping him around. Hee! I like it. Lustful Buffy is a lot more fun this than the way she's in the comics.
