You definitely made me smile! :) That was a completely awesome chapter & I loved the progress made between Buffy and Spike.
Spike's method of calming his libido was brilliant (actually, I think that thought would be enough to scare any male!!) and his gentleness in dealing with Buffy's distress and your description of his internal conflict was beautiful to read. I only wish every time I was upset I had a Spike to hold me too!!!
Buffy trying to do an impersonation of Spike was simply hysterical and I can just picture Spike's affronted expression. Also, nice touch with the very unladylike wiping of her nose!! Can I just say "eww".
My favourite part had to be when Spike is holding up her clothes and Buffy reacts like a victorian maiden! Her very shocked "there are my panties in there" was just perfect, as was Spike's amused response of "doesn't really bother me". I also loved Buffy's reaction to discovering Spike's commando status.
The discussion on sex was quite entertaining, Buffy was especially in-character with her hesitancy to discuss it only to be drawn in by her own curiosity.
And then came Buffy's freudian slip! "I want to sleep in your bed." Can you get any clearer than that?! ") And then she only dug herself in deeper with all that talk of rolling on beds and the mention of penis!! In-denial Buffy can be so cute & Spike's hysterical reaction was so typically him!! It's amazing how contagious a good laughing fit can be!!
And then we have the pillow fight!! This was a wonderful end to the chapter and left me feeling very lighthearted!! It was lovely to see Buffy having some real fun and behaving like a carefree young adult for a change, without having to worry about responsibility or saving the world. Spike certainly knows how to get her to forget her troubles, if only for a time, and to show her that life doesn't have to be just about duty all the time & that you can fit in time to be silly and have a laugh.
And what a way to end the fight?!!!!! Oh boy, I'm getting heated again just thinking about it (and the mental image doesn't help at all!!) Spike all tousled and laughing with his bare chest and happy smile laying on top of an equally dishevelled Buffy who is wearing nothing but a towel and a smile! Oh I can just see the naughty thoughts whirling in their minds!! Probably because they're also in mine! ")
What a cliffhanger you have written!! Will they kiss or will something else prevent them? Oh, cruel and merciless writer! I await your next update on tenterhooks!! :)
In the meantime, thanks for another splendiferous chapter!!

Hee... I love hearing that! :D I had lots of fun writing this so I hoped you'd enjoy reading as well.
Oh yeah, don't tears work like a cold shower on male libido? Well, unless you're really twisted (like Angelus), then I suppose the tears would have a different effect. :/ But Spike got all protective and pissed at the reason for Buffy's distress... that's the Victorian chivalry in him. I could use such Spike to comfort me when I'm upset too. ;) Who wouldn't?!
Buffy just couldn't resist the imitation. And I would have loved to hear her trying to do that on the show. lol I bet her accent would be hilarious. :D And definite eww to Buffy's snot wiping. lol Good thing Spike doesn't get grossed out easily.
It would be weird for her former mortal enemy to be handling her underwear, I imagine. ;) And Buffy can be quite prudish whereas Spike has no shame. He'd have stolen those panties if he knew Buffyy wouldn't notice. After all, he doesn't have any, the poor guy. :D jk
Oh Buffy and her babling. She just dug a deeper hole every time she opened her mouth to explain herself. Freudian slip indeed! :D Seeing her absolutely mortified just sent Spike off into gales of laughter. Btw I absolutely love JM's laugh... I don't know why but it's just hysterical. *gg*

I want you to know that it's difficult to read when you're laughing that hard. The words keep bouncing all around so your eyes lose track of the paragraphs and you end up re-reading the same part that started the whole thing, and it happens all over again. How's a person supposed to write coherent comments in a state like that?
*grins* You crack me up so much!! I apologize for the inconvenience. It's very unfortunate, this affliction of laughing and trying to read at the same time. *sigh* I shall hope to find some sort of remedy to alleviate the problem.
