Can't think of enough superlatives to describe this chapter, absolutely adored it.
Had everything, suspense, danger, comedy and tragedy. I loved how easily Spike broke the ice with the girls.  it was so him and made Carlas death even more poignant. I really felt for Sally, but Spikes reaction to Pipa getting hurt was genuinely heart rending. The fight scenes were great. While Spike was frustrated at not being able to fight side by side with Buffy, it was right that he looked out for the girls. Thats what Buffy would have wanted. Couldn't help but laugh when Angels Macho postering led to him being flattened by the door. Even in the midst of battle he can't control his ego.
Super closing scenes utterly Spuffy, so looking forward to more. Brilliantly done, exactly what the doctor ordered. .

Excuse me while I do the Snoopy Dance...

Okay, I'm done.

It's so much fun entertaining people with this story. I'm relieved this chapter wasn't a dud. I wasn't sure about it - being so action heavy - and I wasn't sure the action was tense and interesting enough.  I really love that readers are responding to the OC's - Pipa and Gina in particular, but how delightful that Carla and Sally have become sympathetic characters too! You're so right that Buffy would have wanted Spike to help the others, and you know - I hadn't thought of it that way. I had only thought of what Spike would ultimately do out of his own sense of what was right.

Thanks so much Jane for sontinuing to hsare your thoughts on each chapter. I really do love hearing from the readers.

Cheers.

Ha! Frightened me there for a second until I realized it was Buffy speaking. I was looking around for Faith when she called him "Blondie". :)
I got an email about this review - yay!

Yeah, "Blondie" isn't Xander's usual nickname, but Spike ditched the peroxide, so Xander went for the next best name. No worries at all about my bringing Faith into the story. She's undeniably an interesting character, but I've never cared for her and am not really interested in telling her story.
