Well, it was off canon as soon as Spike stepped in, so variation will be the name of the game from here on out.

There is so much on Buffy's plate right now. Ugh on grabby Riley adding to her problems. I wonder if Ben is watching Joyce carefully too. Enjoying!
I'm hoping at this point that Ben is still fighting Glory for his humanity, but you never know... Probably a good idea to get Joyce out of the hospital as soon as possible.

And it looks as though Joyce had a blank moment with Dawn, and Riley says his meories of her are fuzzy? Does that signal his mental state?
And Riley is oblivious to the awkwardness and the fact that he is utterly redundant excecpt as a driver. And why on earth does Buffy invite him in? Twit! Spike was waiting just down the street! Hopefully, he'll wait and Riley with finally get a clue and leave....
