I loved Buffy's war with herself before bidding... and then the competetive 'slayer' streak coming out in her until there was no way she was going to lose! The little touch of jealousy was nice too!

Riley is an arse... and you do a very good job of writing him as such!

Poor Spike... I do hope he manages to stay out of Riley's way as much as possible.

It should be very interesting to see Buffy dealing with the 'reality' of owning Spike.

I have to say, as much as I hate Riley (and I really do) I hate it when writers make him too one dimensional when they bash him. You've done a nice job of keeping him as a full character.
On to the next chapter.

Five years with nasty Riley? It'd turn anyone into a drone. Spike can be her wake-up call. This is going to be great fun.

Well like the story. But I must say I don't really buy the whole open slave market thing, not because humans wouldn't do it more because if they went public like this it would pretty much mean open war with the demon world and I don't see that as something that humans would win. It's not the story in itself more on the challenge, I mean if demons and vampires were threatende in this way I have no doubt that they would more towards open conflict and they are much better eqpuiped to do that than humans and if they pulled their resources together I have no doubt that they could probably enslave the human race quickly or maybe just bring about an apocalypse if they thought earth was useless to them anymore. The only advantage I see humans having would be numbers but with vampires they could easily increase their numbers fast. I'm thinking that if they infiltrated an army base and turned everybody there they would have an instant army of vampires who are equipped with weapons to kill humans. I will keep reading this story to see how it all plays out and I like your characters and how you usually write stuff but as I said I have a problem with the whole enslavement thing.
