oh wow!  This chapter could stand alone as a truly lovely short story.  I'm almost afraid to read any more and spoil the tender mood this chapter has created...almost, but not quite!  I can't wait to see what else you come up with next.

How wonderful that she's open to his ever so sweet - and immensely meaningful - gift of nothing.  Delightful, delightful, delightful - and I'm on to the next chapter, never mind that it's 1.34 am and I should be sleeping...

She noticed, for the first time, the little creases of use from constant folding and unfolding. Tiny tobacco smudged stains. Part of a red thumbprint in the bottom left corner. Ink? Or blood. Didn’t matter. It wasn’t empty. It was full. Full of so much feeling that it pared her to the bone.

Oh, very nice. You have a lovely way with words, though I must admit that you got me with the "you're pushing it" echo at the very beginning. I am hooked.

I love the little hint that Buffy knows Spike better than he knows himself (despite herself), when it's usually shown to be the other way around.

well. it's so sweet why can'ti find someone like Spike? Are sweet boys just drawn to mean girls because they need them more?

Wow, where was I when this story came out?  Beautiful idea with the piece of paper and what Buffy added to it.  I'm going to get started on the rest of this now.

wow...i am absolutely in awe...this is beautiful writing, with an emotional depth that is stunning...the very concept of that paper is so gorgeous and touching...i am absolutely, totally hooked on this story and really, really hope it's not just a one-shot...please?? :)
