Hmm I think I put it in a bad way with my former review. What I really mean is that I have a hard time with him being distracted by Buffy actions. Something that is purely Spike is his very singlemindendness, very goal oriented approach to the things that he does and at this point in time he might have feelings for her but he's just as good as Buffy in the art of doing breast strokes in the Nile ;)

There is also the the whole thing with him being distracted and not going for the win when he's got the chance. This comes from my own experience when playing sports, you don't let up until the fat lady sings and with his experience I don't think that he would even give her a chance to do that if he had the opportunity to end it. It's something very basic and primal that you get when you start to focus solely on the task at hand, everything else kind of zones out. I've probably seen it done best in a Kevin Costner movie where he was a pitcher for a baseball team and how everything just faded away but him and the guy trying to hit the ball. Then there is the whole muscle memory thing, it's what you do on automatic without thinking cause you have done it so many times before and sinking his fangs into someones throat would to me be the best known one of all. I mean he's been doing it probably every night for the last 100 years or so. That is a lot of practice.

Of course my thoughts on the subject might be right on a technical level but that probably wouldn't make the story better :)

Just thought I'd give you something to think about for future stories.

Hmm don't know if Spike would care at this point in time to be honest. I mean he's been humiliated for a few weeks or something like that. I don't recall him not wanting to kill her up until he had that dream in season 5. If I recall correctly just a few hours before that he tried to kill her. Although I guess he would be chocked I guess that's what he's feeling when Buffy pulls that stunt.

I've got to admit after what he pulled with the putting away their weapons the kiss and punch that Buffy pulled felt good. I was all for him kicking her ass, but now I'll be happy either way, or if they both come out ahead. :) His comments about her sexual prowess evened up a whole lot of her bitchieness toward him. Though that might just be because that is a sore spot with me. Looking forward to what's to come.

OMG! She's not supposed to be evil like that! Now what?? I think a mutual claim is in order. More story please.

JL ... I love your writing, but I really want Spike to kick Buffy's arse into next year. Yeah he did his whole fake on the drop thing, but did she really think he was that stupid? She was being foolish and naive. Plus she's taunted him incessantly. I'd want to kill her myself at this point.

She is pretty stupid to do that when Spike is just looking like he's having second thoughts. That is only going to infuriate Spike more, and I hope he pounds her into the ground at his mercy at this point. Stupid bitch.
