Nit pick point on the "Ow" door breaking. As a karateka, I don't think the Slayer would hurt like that over wood breaking. I don't and I'm only human. We humans are able to focus up to 6 times our body weight on one point if trained.
yeah, but she didn't go at it like deliberately trying to break it...she accidentally put her fist through a wooden door, splintering it...much like xander's hand through the wall in "The Body"...her strength wouldn't matter so much in that case....in my opinion :)

I am thouroughly (sp?) confused by Buffy right now. Usually I can figure a story out and what is coming....you have me COMPLETELY stumped. I know it has something to do with the wrong ritual being completed, but I have no idea what is coming. GREAT JOB!!
you're not supposed to get it all yet...though i wouldn't be a bit surprised if you had figured it out already, as perceptive as you usually are!! :) thanx for a thoughtful review :)

Good story.Stupid Buffy being mean to Spike.I started reading this today because the premise sounded interesting,and I liked it.Do you watch "Bones" or "How I Met Your Mother"?I love David Boreanaz in "Bones".I can't watch anything James Marsters is in, because he sounds so weird without the British accent and he has normal hair.He freaks me out.
Alexis Denisof guest starred on "HIMYM" and I didn't even recognize him without his British accent.He didn't freak me out though.I can't wait until tomorrow.Pizza Hut lunch & then the book store.The book store has movies,but they don't have the one I want.Hopefully,you can order movies like you can order books.I want the first season of "Fraggle Rock".I can't find it anywhere,and just decided to order it.I may be a teenager,but I still love "Fraggle Rock".You can never be too old for "Fraggle Rock".I miss watching it,even though I don't remember much of it.Morning kids shows used to be good,but now they suck.I wish they'd put our old shows back on like "Dinosaurs"(The first two seasons are coming out on DVD in May,and I'm getting them),"My Little Pony(I'm too old to watch that,but still),and countless others.I miss the kids shows of the early nineties,even though I barely remember the early nineties.Update soon.

Okay Bitchy Buffy has got to go. I swear if she doesn't get knocked down a peg or TEN, I'm going to scream. I keep hoping that this will get better with every chapter I open. Now it just seems to keep getting worse. {sighs and shakes her head} Sorry, JL. Your writing is phenomenal though to be able to evoke such high emotions in people. I just can't handle any more for now.
sorry, tasha, my stories are just majorly angsty...but this one will be looking up, gradually...the next chapter actually begins that path, with spike getting some support and friendship in his situation from anya... thanx so much for your thoughtful reviews, and hope you can continue to enjoy the story... :) *hugs*

I'm still thinking Bitchy Buffy is channeling Angelus more than the 1st Slayer. Needlessly cruel and really enjoying it sounds like something more from Angelus' resume. The 1st Slayer was all about kill the demon and move on. Again, excellent writing. I'm really looking forward to see how you come up with explaining/justifying Buffy's current attitude.
the first slayer's main thing -- in this story anyway -- is power...so if she's needlessly cruel, it's as a means to the end of making spike submit .. thanx for a thoughtful review :)

Fantastic! I just started to read this two days ago at the crypt and I was afriad that it was one of those many wonderful WIP that were last updated in 2003. I am so glad I stopped back to check! And now I know where your fiction lives.
I love your Buffy. Often I don't read Buffy fiction because I feel that authors magnify her flaws. Which is common for all of the characters, but I'm especialy protective of Buffy.
Your Buffy is great. I have a dominant-Buffy kink a mile wide and you have made her dominent actions toward Spike entirely believable with the concept of the bond. I've gone back and read the kitchen scene several times now. So hot!
It was heart-wrenching to watch Spikes desperate attempt to salvage something out of this nightmare during this latest chapter. He is truely on the edge of loosing everything.
I love suspense!

i'm so glad you're enjoying it, and glad you like my buffy; everybody seems to hate her *innocent look*..actually I'm not liking her much myself at the moment...anyways, as you're protective of buffy, i'll take it as a compliment that you still like her in this story :) as will be revealed later, there *are* reasons for her bad behavior toward Spike...thanx for the great review :)

OK, this tension is really getting to me. I hope they find a way to rein in the Slayer demon sometime soon, cause I'm not sure how much more Spike (or I) can handle.

I've got a theory that Buffy is channeling the first slayer in her horrible treatment of Spike. I just wish the part of her that isn't a flaming bitch would feel worse about how she is treating him (and notice, really see him kinda notice, how she is tearing him apart emotionally). Anya should bitch slap her on principle.

Man, Buffy was making an effort to stop the madness and have Anya around but that just had to be the time that Spike was trying to exert some independance. Man, what a pair they are. This is going to be a long lesson for the both of them. Great update.
