Oh this is very sweet about the spike don't go line - well probably not for the immortal but i like it! I love the line about no fornifiation to nina *giggles*

I'm looking forward to see how things will develope (hopefully a happy Spuffy reunion :) ) loved how they both couldn't just let go of the other, Buffy calling out for Spike in her sleep *sigh*

Buffy will freak when she sees Spike anyway - he don't need no glamourpuss escort! It'll be fun though!
Very true, but it's difficult to blame him when she seemed completely oblivious to his presence the last time they were in the same room.

wonderful read. nina putting angel in his place. spike taking blue (fred_blue was the best of the atv.) can't wait to see what is in store for the watcher. thanks for the great read.
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Angel definitely needed putting in his place before he got too used to the "Angel Knows Best" routine, and SPike has a habit of ending up with a soft spot for any woman he's around for long enough who treats him half decent... As for Giles, just think WWWD?

Fabulous story! I LOVE Spike baiting Angel (which really isn't THAT hard to do but Spike does it so masterfully!) Trying to convince himself (and others) that he is over Buffy is just SOOO Spike!!
I can't believe you managed to make me feel a twinge of sympathy for The Immortal... it must be hard for him to know that Buffy still dreams about Spike and still misses him.
Oh I wouldn't want to be in Giles' shoes when Spike and Angel get to Rome!!!

Thank you! I'm glad you're finding it intruiging. I'm not sure how soon this will be updated. I'm alternating between it and Broken Things, my other WIP, as far as writing goes. On a 'good' week, chances are I'll manage to update both. A not so good week means I'll probably manage one or the other, but I'll try not to have longer than two weeks between updates on either of the fics.

Kind of with the last reviewer here...perhaps you should add spike/other to your warnings if this relationship isn't a ruse. Of course, if that's all it is, then (heh-heh-heh) you're diabolical.

um, okay, i don't like where this is going. spike and illyria is just not right and i don't see him going out with her. it's just disturbing. sorry, this seems a bit out of character to me. i don't like the way spike's acting and that he claims to be over buffy. and i cringe seeing buffy with the immortal. i just don't see very much spuffy in this.
Sorry. This fic is a birthday request for a friend. The pairings are what she asked for. All I can suggest is that if you don't like it, don't read.

i love spike's little speech to illyria, especially the end...very awesome chapter..go nina! lol :P can't wait to see the fireworks when both boys show up with their dates in rome lol :)
Well, Spike just had to try for the jealousy trump card, but really all it's going to take is another female anywhere near him.
And Nina needed to put her foot down before she ended up as Angel's lapdog.

And Spike, all that bravado don't mean jack, because we all know that you love her just as much as the day you died in the Hellmouth...and yeah, seeing her jealous is going to be fun. Let her do the chasing for once.

I really enjoyed Nina and her insistence that she should go to Rome with Angel. Thanks for the update, I enjoyed it.
In canon, we never got to see enough of Nina for her to be more than a plot device, but I figured she really needed to put the brakes on the whole 'Angel Knows Best' thing before it got to be a habit.

Gotta love Spike daydreaming about about Illy and Buffy....but I would have prefered oil that would have been even better :)
At the end I almost thought Spike would drag up the old "we few, we brave few....we band of brothers" (don't know if that is correct) thing. :)

From what I remember of the bit immediately pre-Glory finale, the Spike version goes "We band of buggered". Your version sounds pretty close to the original to me, so point to you.
