Great! it's the First, already? This is so not good. The only good thing to come out of this is the fence mending that's happening between Buffy and Willow. This is becoming more nerve-racking by the minute. Great work! Thanks for the great read.

I never really believed that Spike was insane in that basement in S7. After all, every one of the people he "hallucinated" were people The First was capable of impersonating. He never hallucinated Willow or Giles or Xander...

I loved the line about the soulless vampire being able to resist the lure of evil but a human beings could be easy to manipulate. excellant point. I loved it!

Spike has to always be on his guard, and he has sooo much to lose if he stumbles. People like Robin Wood are already half eaten away by hatred and bitterness... easy targets.

oh i'm so worried for spike...hope he doesn't end up hurt...glad buffy knows kind of what's going on now, hope she can stop him or wood before anything really bad happens...great chapter :)
Spike is definitely making things worse for himself, but since he's not entirely rational you can't really blame him. As for who gets where when, I'll let that unfold in its own time.
