Buffy is really being a bitch. That being said you should see how I act when I am over-tired, stressed, and confused. She realizes that Spike has lost three years of his life but I get the feeling that she doesn’t really understand it. Buffy has never been that quick on thinking through a situation, she seems to be more the type to either have it explained to her or for it to take a while for it to sink in before she understands. And here is a Spike who doesn’t know her or anything about the relationship that they had, that she knows has been tortured, and she has to rein in her natural tenancy to hit him over the head and tell him to pull himself together. I have a feeling that this is going to be a very interesting trip for both of them. I am really glad that I found this story and am looking forward to following it.

Re: The complaints about Buffy acting too bitchy. Are you deliberately writing her as more harsh on him than she turned out to be on the show, in early S7? It's not that bad, but yeah your Buffy does feel kind of off.

FWIW, I'm am interested in reading more of this despite minor disagreements with your characterization. I rather bitchy Buffy over weepy remorseful Buffy who's learned the error of her abusive and b/w-judgey ways any day of the week. *gags*

that is so unbelievably heart-breaking...i commented on your lj, but i've gotta leave a review here, too...personally, i think you're spot on with buffy's reactions...it's like she's trying not to give in to the kindness that's actually inside her...because of what he tried to do, she thinks she shouldn't care about him now, and she's trying not to but she just. can't. help it...this chapter was incredible, so very moving wrenchingly emotional...lovely job, pet....looking forward to your next :)

Amnesia! Wow, what a great twist! What a bitch for Buffy, she's so use to being a bitch to him that this little complication has her having to change her attutide. awwwwwwwwwwwww poor poor spike. It occurs to me now, that he helped dawn cause he wanted to help her, and not because he knew her. He just didn't want her to go through the things he had. He has a soft spot for the bit even when he doesn't remember her.

I hope Buffy starts being nicer to him sooner, although it'll take a while for him to believe in it. Great chapter! can't wait for more! :)

I understand that Buffy is upset about the attempted rape. ( which is inexcusable) however, Buffy's memory is short about her treatment of Spike. Her self centeredness is very annoying. I do think that Buffy is a little kinder than you are portraying her. Hopefully she will be somewhat nicer to him. Good read.
