I went back, and the Slayer did generally use "baby," not just any random pet name. It was another way to put him down, really. I didn't even notice the first time around! :)

Oh, wow! I can totally understand why she's upset-she's feeling guilty about her own actions, and like others have said-she can't rightly hit herself. But at the same time, she needs to understand that Spike and Angel are VAMPIRES, not human, and that they don't live by our rules. What she dealt with is what they, or at least Angel-are dealing with on a constant basis, and that Angel shouldn't be held responsible for Angelus's actions BEFORE the soul. She saw what he did to Drusilla: why is she so shocked about Spike?
well, now they're mated, so she's going to be that much more protective...plus she's trying to deal with what she did...and in my opinion, angel *is* responsible for what angelus did...

Oh yeah......THIS is good therapy for both of them. She can wail on Angel since she can't on herself. HE was in charge of his actions back in the day unlike EvilBuffy.....payback can be a bitca.

I like this story I really, really do but when is Willow going to have to answer for her part in this? She changed the spell and then denied doing anything when they realized something had gone wrong. I think Buffy & Spike have suffered enough. Making Angel pay for Angelus' actions against Spike doesn't seem fair either. Angelus was stronger and more dominant so he dominated and controled Spike when he was younger. To paraphrase a less wussy Spike, "Boo Hoo. Angelus was stronger - that's what stronger vampires do."
well, in my opinion, angel *is* angelus, and he's kind of behind all buffy's and spike's emotional issues, at the root....buffy's kind of needing to do this because she's still trying to deal with what *she* did to spike...oh well...you'll just have to see how it plays out, maybe you'll like it better then :)

absolutlt brilliant, I have followed this story from the first chapter but because of a disability i find it v hard to type so dont usually leave a review but I had to with this chapter, I was hoping to see willow and her spells and xanders attitude raked over the coals but even better Angel getting an arse kicking, cant wait for the next chapter!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I enjoy seeing Angel get smacked down, I can't really agree with Buffy's reasoning for it. Finding a way other than violence to work through her feelings would probably be more beneficial. For everyone.
yeah, you're very right...buffy's solution is always violence...but you haven't seen what's actually going to happen yet, just what she intends... :)

And good gawd, I've seen the same person or two complain about every chapter. (and not in the teasing way i do) Why is she still reading??!!
lol...well, i don't know...i don't see it so much as complaints about the story as about the actions the characters are taking...someone can like the story and still be like, "Wow, Buffy's acting like a moron!!"...lol...and that's how i choose to see those comments...personally, i like not so positive reviews...keep things interesting.. :)

Looks like Angel's going to have to face some really "painful" truths. Looking forward to having a ringside seat for this little fireworks display.

Okay...I get that Buffy wants to go all righteous fire on Angel....but if anyone's going to punish him for Spike's past, shouldn't it be Spike? Because really, this is his battle...his power to take back, his respect to earn...
Angel doesn't even have a clue that Buffy would ever learn about his history with Spike, or care if she did...because the tortures he inflicted were as Angelus, and she always gave his soul a free pass.
I don't feel right about her doing this...Spike doesn't need to have all his battle fought for him like he's a helpless child.

all i can say is...this scene has not played out yet, and no telling as to exactly how it will...and yes, angel thinks of himself as a different person...though he's not, really... he's responsible for all the things angelus did...otherwise why would he need redemption?

well, the Slayer specifically focused on "Baby"...whereas buffy's called him lots of other pet names throughout...so i don't think it's gonna be an issue, though that is a good point...and spike's not really that strongly against her going, and he told her it's okay...she asked him and waited for his response, and he told her yes, even if it was with some misgivings...
