Althought these last few chapters have been very poignant (and righteous:)) it's nice to be able to leave Angel. After all the retrobution, I think itll be nice just to leave him (and it looks like possibly never to return):P

Yup! Angel past, Spike future. She's got right for the first time. Excellent exchange between S/A and B/A. Maybe he will come to terms, now he knows how to do it if he wants to. Fabulous chapter, thanks.

I understand that Spike finally regained his self confidence towards his abuser. At first I thought that he was forgetting the Slayer's abused. But then I remembered that Angelus mistreated Spike over a period of 20 years and Angel had a dominance claim even during his soul having. The dominance claim was now void by the mating claim. Spike wanted to tell Angel(us) that he no longer had to follow the commands of his Sire. That gave him some power back and the Slayer's abuse was so much less in comparisson. I am yet to see how Buffy will be forgiven for her sins considering towards her mate. She now understands all the pain from his past and she has to make amends.
thanx so much, so glad that all came across right...angelus represents the abuse of the slayer in spike's mind, because it was so very similar....now for the healing for buffy and spike...
