good to see buffy get a little more info on her "first love". always thought he was worthless before he lost his soul. interesting tale you have going. thanks for the fine read.
Well, I don't have a problem with Angel, since I got to know him from his own series, but he's definitely not right for Buffy, nor is she right for him. I wanted to give the girl a chance to learn that before things could get ugly.

Great story, I like the alternate approach and look forward to seeing how this sorts out. Nice work with giving the Angle warning.
Thanks. I don't want Angel to be a big focus for this Buffy, so it was important to plant the seeds of doubt, etc. early on. I think she'll be pretty busy pretty soon, anyway. :)

It’s so nice to see an update, I’m glad that your muse has decided to cooperate again. I like that Buffy was given to truth about Angel and his soul and the answers that Lillian was able to give Buffy. Thanks so much for the update, I really enjoyed it.
Thank you. I did some brainstorming this morning, so that will hopefully help the muse stick around. I really wanted to advance her acceptance of letting Angel go.

Wow, Guardians can materialize and dematerialize, very cool. She does have a lot to think about and what was that about her not meeting her equal while your still growing? When does she meet Spike then? Not for another 3 or 4 years or longer? That's when she's finished growing. Hate that I'm all caught up now. Hope you'll be updating again soon, I'm very excited to see how this is going to work out. Great job, thanks.

As for "growing", she means up to the point where Buffy is ready. The talk was also about getting the girl to ease off on the romantic fairytale notions, and give her hope that Slaying, or the supernatural, won't leave her in a miserable, early grave. Gotta be cryptic about the future, you see. :)

awesome chapter I like the guardian saying Angel interpreted the mandate to protect her rather creatively lol. Love how she's finding out stuff about the council and Angel's curse.
I can't wait for Spike to show up and really wonder how that's going to play out...but I know the story has to build to it. Can't wait for the next installment!

Yeah, I've seen others write interpretations on Buffy finding out Angel was supposed to prevent her death, and knew a Guardian would have a definite opinion on that. And she knows enough about Buffy to know that just telling the girl that she shouldn't be around Angel (from a Guardian's perspective) would just make the girl rebel.

This is quite compelling. I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads. Interesting to see a world where the Slayer line didn't split (and wonder what a Guardian Buffy would do with Faith!!). Looking forward to Spike in the mix too.
I always thought Angel did a pi$$ poor job of "helping" Buffy and his reaction to the prophecy of her death (going to his apartment to wait for the news of her death until Xander dragged him out!!!!!) was shameful IMHO. Great story so far.

Yeah, it hit me when I started this, "What would it be like if she hadn't remained a Slayer?" It was such an intriguing question, that I had to run with it...though not leave her permanently powerless, of course. I haven't figured out how long Kendra will be around, yet, so we'll see how long the story goes!
