Chapter: Chapter Thirteen

OMG, how could they. I can't believe they think she is a whore. I feel so bad for Buffy. And for them to bring her out so everyone could view her. That's just wrong. Man I hope Spiek kills them all and this time Cecily with them.
No more slapping Buffy with a fish then? lol. I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thanks for reviewing!

Yes I remember them making fun of him for his poetry. But that and what they said about Buffy and William was much ruder. It didn't seem like something that Victorian people would say. But I do agree with you. Most people with money think that they are better than everyone else and deserve more and have crappy attitudes to make it worse.

worse than a guttersnipe, esp. with that last comment, though I suppose that it makes sense from his point of view.

I loved these last few chapters. And for the time being so proper, everyone was being very rude and gossipy about Buffy and William. I would have thought that they would at least have been more discreet. I loved the dance between Buffy and William. ; ) I wonder what you are going to do now, because for some reason it feels like this ball was a significant one in William's life. I am very curious as to where you are going to go with it. Looking forward to more.
They were gossiping about William in "Fool for Love" so I just decided to take that and run with it. I've always found the so called elite to be bitches in real life anyway.

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thank you for taking the time to review.

Great update! I always wanted to have someone come to William's rescue at that party scene. Unfortunately Buffy is also in the midst of their hatred and scandal. Of course she's going to slap the living snot out of the idiot. Go Buffy!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for reviewing.

Poor William and good for Buffy. I so enjoyed their dance and the conversation. She's falling for him as almost as much as he has for her. Too bad she didn't knock him on his ass with that slap! I might be breathing again but I'm still on pins and needles. Hope you can continue to update as often as you have. Love this fic, thanks for the great read.
Thank you for the review. :-)

HOT DAMN!! That jackass deserved more than a slap, but I'm glad that Buffy gave it to him. Oh, and William left before he could see it, too. Egads!! Ok, pins and needles here, must have more---please? Great update and can't wait for another!!
Your wait is over. Thanks for the review. :-)

Oh, poor Buffy and William. I hated those byatches in his social circle in "Fool For Love," and I hate them here, too. I'm worried that William has just gone into the night to find his ripe wicked plum, but I'm slightly confused. Are you holding to the canon timeline, where it was not apparently winter when William was turned? It looked like late spring from what everyone was wearing in "Fool For Love." Well, I suppose it's irrelevant, but if you were keeping to something of the same time frame, then I'm not going to worry about William becoming Spike just yet. However, since this is your story, you can change whatever to fit your vision. So maybe I should worry. Arg, I'm so confused! Because it's silly to worry anyway, because he has to become Spike, Buffy and I both agree on that point, because point a ultimately winds up to point z. If William never gets turned, he never comes to Sunnydale, and I think everyone can see the plausibility that the Dulac Cross ritual seemed to push Angel and Buffy's relationship into the next level. And of course, without Spike, what becomes of Acathla? I don't think Buffy realizes how much she really has changed her world already--because there ain't no way Spike back in Season Five isn't getting all weird now. Ok, I'll shut up now. But not yet, cause I just have to say I really love this story, so good job! I love the character of William, too, especially the little glimpses you've shown of what will later be greatly amplified in Spike. Ok, I'm shutting up for real now. Sorry.
A lot of people on the other site I post this at asked me if this ball was supposed to be the same party as seen in "Fool for Love." I never wrote it to be, although similarities were definitely there, so basically I'm going to leave the readers to draw their own conclusions about it. And remember, even if it isn't the same party or the same time of year Drusilla could still be out in London somewhere. All she needs is the opportunity to find William alone and vulnerable.

Thanks so much for the review. :-)

Too bad she didn't break his jaw- poor William!
Don't worry. I'm fairly certain Archer will get his eventually. Thanks for the review. :-)

Excellent chapter = Loved the old cats and the nasty young ladies and especially the trouble maker Charles Archer. Bet he's spitting out a few loose teeth after Buffy smacked him. Thanks many times for updating so often.
Thank you for the review. :-)

This is a great story but I fear that somehow Buffy is going to mess up the timeline and she will have to tell William about the future. I can't wait to read where you will take us next. You are a great writer and thanks for the quick updates. I look forward to each new chapter.
Buffy has already done plenty to mess up the timeline; we'll just have to wait and see what the consequences will be.

Thanks so much for the review.
