Reading your fic again. for the 5th time :P
You should do another fic just like this one but where William actually does travel back/forward in time with her. Then he will know what it felt like for Buffy.

That would be a fantastic read! I hope you consider it :)
That's an interesting idea. I'll definitely consider it. Thanks for the review. :)

wonderful way to end - I started reading before then stayed away until you had more chapters done and I am so glad that I did - it was great being able to read this from start to finish this time -

On to book two -
I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Thank you for the review!

See, I knew he would have had to have been under some pretty heavy drugs to tangle with the likes of Drusilla. Heroin--gets 'em every time. For some reason, I want to draw a Kurt Cobain/Courtney Love metaphor here, but nah, I'll just shut my gob and keep reading!
I'm glad you're still reading and enjoying it. Thanks for the review. :)

i wonder if he's going to keep the ring and later give it to buffy?
Wait and see. ;)

Just dying to read more of this story. Glad I found it here at bloodshedverse, because when I saw that spuffy realm was down momentarily I was really bumming.
Love, love, love the story. Poor William. I feel so bad for him. Can't wait to see how Buffy reacts to being back in the present and how Spike has changed because of her time traveling. What will he remember and how will he feel about her.
Keep those updates coming.

So no is the time for his turning, I wonder where Buffy has gone.
You'll find out where Buffy has gone...eventually.

I have spent the last few days reading this story and I must say I have really enjoyed it. I like the fact that you spent so much time with Buffy in the past building relationships. I thought at first that you were going to keep the story in the past. But after this chapter I just can't wait to see how things will be different in Buffy's own time. I enjoyed all the repressed victorianisms of poor William. How will this translate for Buffy. She loved William the man not Spike the Vampire. Very interesting plot twist.
I'm glad you think so, Dee. I hope you continue to enjoy the story in the future. Thanks for the review!

Oh, UB, you are so very, very cruel! How could you leave it like that? I'm anxious to see what happens when Buffy gets back to her real time, whether Spike remembers any of this, whether she actually changed things in her own timeline, and whether she's going to try to get back to William. Excellent writing, you have me so incredibly hooked!
I'm certainly glad to hear that, Eowyn. Hopefully, your addiction to the story will continue. Thanks for reviewing!

Poor William... Great chapter, although very frustraiting since I wan´t to know what happened to Buffy. I can´t wait to see how she´s going to react when she sees Spike again. There are so many questions... Does he remember her? Has he known all the time sho she was? How is she going to treat him?... Really, this frustration is the reason I some time wait until I know the story is finished before I read, eventhough I know it´s not so fair to the authors who wish reviews for all their chapters...

Please, please update soon!!!!!
To be perfectly honest, Buffy is not really going to be the main focus of the story in the next part. I hope this won't discourage you from reading. Above all else, this story is a romance, but that doesn't mean constant spuffy interaction or immediate happiness.

Thanks for reviewing!

Argh! What a cliffhanger! I'm going to be a wreck until you update. So much is happening, I have no idea what the next chapter will bring. I'm certainly very interested ;)

Can't wait until you update!
If you can't predict the next chapter, then I know I am doing my job. I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks for taking the time to review it!

I started reading this story a long time ago. It captured my imagination and I went back to FF.net over and over looking for updates. I'm so delighted that you continued to write, and that you are posting here. It's really a wonderful story.
Thank you, time of change. I'm glad you like it.

First of all, I've just got to say that you more than deserve every nomination and reward that you've gotten. You're a bloody brilliant writer - just an awesome talent.

This fic has been a real roller coaster ride and the best part is that there's no end in sight yet! I'm looking forward to lots and lots more. Can't wait to see what happens when Buffy goes "back to the future." I have a feeling you have more than a few sneaky plot twists in store for us poor readers who are hanging onto your every word. Hope you update soon. Please? :)
Thank you so much, HPfan. I'm flattered you feel that way. :)

I feel so badly for William, but hope it will turn out well for him/Spike in the end. Every day, I check for updates, you have me so addicted to this story!

Lovely writing, lovely use of the late Victorian age. I just purely enjoy your writing. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I'm glad you hear you are enjoying it so much, Grave Tidings. Thank you for the feedback!

My heart just goes out to William. I can't even imagine what he feels. And what a way for him to run into Dru.. Awesome chapter.
Thanks, letitia. I'm glad you liked it. :)

03/17/2007 01:35 am
actual happy to see dru. this will get spike on his long torturous road to his love. fine read, thank you.
I'm glad you liked it. And I'm very glad to hear that you feel the road to love will be "long and torturous" because that is exactly what I have planned. There is real romance in overcoming adversity, and there will be no lack of adversity in this story. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Thanks for reviewing!

What a perfect way to twist canon and make sense yet! William at Dru's fangs while grieving a lost love (at least THIS time he really had been loved and felt it).

Poor William (and pity for Matthew too). Naturally his death will be laid at the door of his madness from earlier. I knew he'd come completely undone at losing her.

Looking forward to Buffy's return and the fallout there. Would love her to finally accept that ring from Spike in due time.

Excellent, as always.

Kathleen
One thing I always loved about Spike's turning, as opposed to Angel's, was that Spike was in a vulerable, painful place when Dru came along. Liam was just a drunken lout, but William was a sensitive and fantasy-prone personality. When Cecily dashed that fantasy, he was devastated. Enter Dru with compliments and promises to make it all better. How could he refuse?

In a way, my William is doubly vulnerable to Dru, because not only is he suffering from real heartbreak, but he also is still feeling the aftereffects of the sedative. The immediate result of it (vampirism) might be the same. But I think that you'll find that the differences in the siring will make a difference in everything. I just hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for reviewing!

aaah Drusilla. I feel sorry for WIlliam's mother...now she's lost them both.
It is sad, isn't it? There are so many victims of circumstance.

OMG!! So beautifully tragic that I'm just crying like crazy! You've got me speechless, totally speechless. I absolutely LOVE this story, and that ending, wow!! Can't wait for the next update, although I'm going to miss William like mad. Gorgeous story.
Thank you so much, Esther. I'm sorry to make you cry, but in a way, it's flattering. This way, I know you've become emotionally invested in the characters and the story. I really appreciate the feedback and I hope you enjoy what's to come.

Grr, loved the chapter but I was expecting answers dammit :P!

I'm eagerly waiting to find out what happens when she gets back, if Spike remembers, or if, like another reviewer put it- that it was an alternative dimension and this Spike is no different (the one I favour, because I think it'd be super interesting to see her think that William is gone, but then see parts of him in Spike! But not the one I think you will do). I've got a feeling, because of the ring though, that that isn't the case. It seems you threw that in there as a way to link the two. But I'm just speculating! The question is if it's not an alternative dimension, whether it's changed alot. Will the people all be the same? If he remembers, will it have gone like it has now? Or will her past have changed to (because when School Hard came around he should have recognised her. eh time things are confusing.) Or will he just have both memories and nothing have changed?! Ahh to many questions!

Cannot wait for more! Really loved this! Hoping we'll get some answers next chapter! But maybe not! I have a feeling though, that from the end of your chapter here, that it's pretty much a given that Dru will sire him. Although your William is different now to Fool For Love William, he's still heartbroken, which was the state he was in before. But I guess we'll see!

Loving the fic. :)

Excellent chapter - you did a great job with William's reaction... and of course it makes perfect synchronicity for Dru's arrival on the scene.
Thank you, Lou. I'm glad you like it.

Well, at least William won't have to worry about that nasty heroin habit now that Drusilla has him. Unlike Buffy and the grey pony, I've been enjoying the ride so far. I'm looking forward to her reaction, and finding out how much time has passed and if there's still a Glory problem.
Heroin addiction? He never had a heroin addiction...

Anyway, I'm really glad you're enjoying the story so far and I hope that you continue to in the future. Thanks as always for reading and reviewing! :)

You know, I put off reading this for most of the day, cause I knew it would kinda depress me... Only I need to know more, so please tell Muse to kindly stop torturing me- I don't like it.

Will we see Buffy in her time next? Will Spike be bombarded with memories like in... damn, that movie with James Caviezel and Dennis Quaid, remembering both timelines, or just the latest one?
Poor Scarlet. My intent was definitely not to torture you, but I know that the chapter was probably a little hard to read. It was certainly hard to write without becoming depressed. I'm glad you're sticking with it, though, and that you're enjoying it despite the angst. Just know that better times are coming.

Eventually.

First- let me kiss your Muse!! Second- this was a painful chapter but well done.

I hope Buffy is wearing the bracelet that William gave her because I have a feeling that this is how Spike will realize that Elizabeth is Buffy.

Wonderful story and I look forward to the Spike and Buffy discovery part now.

Oh, I just went back to read a few things to refresh my memory, and I noticed that your author's note at the very beginning of the Prologue says that the story's place in the canon time line is AFTER the events of "Forever" but BEFORE "I Was Made to Love You." "Forever" is episode 17 of Season 5, and "I Was Made to Love You" is episode 15. So, did you mean AFTER "I Was Made to Love You" and BEFORE "Forever?"

Okay, I am thinking waaay too much about this story, but I'll make one last observation: When this story takes place, Buffy still believes that the person completely leaves the building when the body becomes a vampire. The demon inhabits the body and has the person's memories, etc., but Buffy believes that, essentially, the vampire is not the person that they were before. She also believes that soulless vampires cannot love as she has just recently told Spike in "Crush." It's funny that Buffy hasn't yet made the connection that both William and Spike fell in love with her, and that maybe that could indicate that the demon and the man are essentially the same. Spike is simply William with a cool nickname :-P Buffy can be so thick sometimes...

Okay, I'll stop now.
LMAO. No, that was just me being a big dummy. What I actually meant was that the story begins after "Forever" and before "Intervention." For some reason I got the two episode titles confused when I wrote the summary. Anyway, I have since changed that so as not to confuse anyone else. Thanks for pointing it out!

03/16/2007 04:08 am
Even though I knew this was coming, it didn't make it any easier. Are you sure that Livvy isn't channeling Buffy's attitude? Can't wait for them to meet again. Thanks for the quick update. Great story.
I'm not sure what you mean about Livvy? Or were you referring to the snide comments made about William by the cook?

Anyway, I'm so glad you're still enjoying this story, Verda. And I really appreciate your taking the time to review. Thank you. :)

03/16/2007 03:48 am
Woo hoo! Another update

“And I wonder. What possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?” Enter Drusilla, bringing with her all sorts of questions. Will she see those burning baby fish? Will she turn William? Will he see her as his salvation or his damnation? This William is different from our canonical William: he's known real love, he's lost real love, and he's actually gotten laid :P He may not see Drusilla as his black beauty, delivering him from mediocrity. Maybe she'll deliver him from his despair, but William's love (in this case, for Buffy) does not die easily, even if he will :)

Drusilla finding William crying in that inauspicious alley brings up the concept of Fate. Was William destined to become a vampire? Did Buffy's appearance into his life simply delay the inevitable? If William's turning is destined, what other events in his life and unlife are fated to occur? Will he become the Spike that we all know and love, and--more importantly--the Spike that Buffy loves? Will he remember her? Will he still have that blasted ring? Will Buffy realize that the Spike that she knows is simply William with a bumpy face and 120 more years behind him? I'm beginning to wonder if these events will have changed the future, or if perhaps Buffy was in a different dimension entirely. Getting to my point: you've got me thinking, something that few writes have accomplished. I am buckling myself into my seat to see how the events pan out.
lol. That's a lot of questions. Naturally, they'll all be answered in the story. Just not all at once. I've got to keep you guys coming back for more, right?

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Ah, I see. No matter what happened in William's time, he would still be found in the same alleyway by Drusilla. Hmmm...What could this mean for our heroes?...
Wait and see. ;)

03/16/2007 03:00 am
Are you going to retell the early vampires years, or are you going to jump us ahead for the reunion?

Either way, good stuff!
You will just have to wait and see. ;)

Thanks for the review!

03/16/2007 02:42 am
Wow, that was terrific! I loved the way William finds so many ways to blame himself for Buffy disappearing. Can't wait for the two of them to get together in good old Sunny D.

Congrats on all the awards.
Thank you, Spikez_tart. :)

03/16/2007 02:03 am
And enter Drusilla. Poor poor William. Knew he would be broken hearted. Not surprised by his violent outburst, but can't help but wonder how this will affect everything, including Spike himself. Can't wait to see what's going to happen.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks. :)

03/16/2007 01:56 am
They gave him a morphine derivative to put him to sleep? No wonder the poor guy got sick! Poor William. :(

And now Dru has entered the picture. I wonder how this experience will effect him once he's turned.

Wonderful as always and I can't wait to see what comes next.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks as always for taking the time to tell me so.

03/16/2007 01:56 am
Okay, I cannot wait for more. This is getting soooo good.

I just wonder if everything is going to happen like it was supposed to have, or if you're going to put your own little twist on it like this chapter.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for reviewing!

03/16/2007 01:51 am

Wonderful chapter. Poor William, and poor Matthew too. And now Dru is there *gulp*

I'm just loving this story... can't wait for more.

OH, no! It's Dru! Oh, dear.....and now....oh, goodness...oh, but William isn't the same man that was turned after being driven from the party. He's known love, known a woman...Dru won't be the "savior" he saw her as before, except that he'll welcome death this time because he feels so lost without Buffy.

Oh, dear, oh, dear.....everything's changed!!!!!!! His entire history as a vampire would be different. His motivations....

So glad you updated quickly. Now, for Buffy's side.

You are certainly right about that...this William is not the same one we saw in "Fool for Love." Buffy has seen to that. How it alters his (Spike's) future remains to be seen...

Thanks as always for reading and reviewing!
